Awesome place to stay and chill with friends. Food and room services were amazing.

Firstly, Vikram you have a fantastic property with your outstanding hospitality and service.

Place: Authentic homely feel (earthly) situated like a hidden gem amidst lush green. The ancient artifacts placed inside the property gives a gr8 anesthetic to the property and adds story.
Can't believe it's here for more than 10years. Property is very well maintained.

Food: Simply Outstanding. They serve very good veg food. Being a non-vegn I m simply in love with their bhramin veg food. They do serve non-veg, the dining area for these are separated.

Service: 2023 - Staffs here are super friendly with all time smiling. Talking to them we get to understand about the locals and idea to explore near by places.

Overall: A gr8 experience one can get to enjoy their vacation/week out break from traffic and pollution. You have good cellular service here.

It was purely by chance that we ended up at Barekal Homestay. We were returning from a 3-day trip to Kollur, Udupi, Murudeshwar & Kudajadri and wanted to relax and take a day off before driving back to Bangalore 450KMs away. An internet search and a phone call landed us in Barekal Homestay in a few mins. And what a pleasant experience that turned out to be! Managed by Vikram and ably served by Ashok, Arun and team, they will give any professionally-trained resort staff a run for their money. Through their simple, authentic, heart-warming service and homely Malnad cuisine. Hats off to the team.

As we left, we were all yearning for more time here. Just doing nothing. Hope to get back to Barekal again some day.

The best home stay I have been to. They have maintained top hygiene in the place and food is typical malnad style and so tasteful. I have touched by their hospitality. Staffs are so humble, friendly and mindful. As this home stay is completely covered in greenery, most of the time you can just relax and enjoy birds chirping but i recommend you not to miss morning sounds. This place just feels like home. Nothing fancy. Everything natural. If you are looking for some place to spend in peace and in between nature, far away from city and traffic, this is the home stay you should visit to. It’s just been 2 weeks since I got back from Barekal I’m already planning for my next visit. I completely recommend you to try visiting Barekal Farmstay. Amazing food, view and host to sum it up. We had gone for 2 days and the Host Vikram and his team made the stay more comfortable and special. The malnad food was amazing. I would recommend anyone who would want to relax, rewind from their busy lives to visit this place as it lies in between the nature. Kudos to you Vikram and his team working in Barekal.

Good place to visit with friends and family. Kids can enjoy the open house and there are sufficient play games to keep them occupied. Good food and host Mr. Vikram Udupa is very nice and courteous. His suggestions to visit nearby places and he makes sure that one spends quality time around the house.

A beautiful farm stay in a quiet village pretty close to Sharavati back waters. The hosts Ashok, Anil and one more person were super friendly.. We had a good tour of their farm.. The owner Vikram was friendly.. The room was very comfortable and the food was tasty.. The sports room was well equipped.. Overall a great place to unwind.. We went a boat ride on the Sharavati back waters.. it was quite relaxing..

One of the best Farmstay that is neat, hygienic, value for money and guaranteed to make you feel satisfied. Thanks to the visionary Vikram Udupa to have started to this and designed as he envisioned. Very well maintained and quipped rooms. Superb Malenadu food and very courteous staff too. Also you have a lot of nice places to visit around. Must visit for those who love any of the above or all of the above....

Lovely place and very homely food. Very warm staff. Amazing homely food with veggies from their garden. They are very accomodative to the guests need. Kids love the place. They Have some.indoor games. Clean maintenance. The surrounding is great for a small forest walk. They accompany you if you ask for. The swings in room and outside are such a great idea to relax. Early mornings r blissful with chirping birds and cup of coffee. Far from City Life. Have come here twice Worthing this year.

I visited this place with my friends for 2 days trip and each of us decided to bring our family for at least 3-4 days outing. Very beautiful place, surrounded by arecanut trees. The room was very clean and all the bedsheets & bedspreads were washed. Friendly staff, they got excellent hospitality skills, and they followed all the govt guidelines(like wearing masks). The food was simply superb, we ate the best Malad style of food. There are plenty of places to visit nearby (even Kodachadri is 1hr journey), you can plan for at least 2-4 days outing with Family/Friends. I recommend this place is 100% the best option if you planning an outing near Shivamogga/Chikkamagaluru.

Want to experience a home in the malnad? this is the place. Well maintained and spacious rooms with 4 beds in a room. they have games like TT, Carroms, Football, Cricket, 🏹, etc. They also have kannada books for reading. The very tasty food served is South Indian and Malnad cuisine. What stands out the most is host Mr.Vikram and his team, very courteous and serve their guests well. I would definitely recommend this place for people to enjoy the greenery.

I've been to many places but the stay at barekal will always remain close to my heart. Travelled along with my colleagues of about 15 people, the stay made me feel like home. Firstly, it was very neat and clean. Secondly the food tastes excellent. Thirdly, Vikram has made sure we are all comfortable throughout taking the pain of arranging the local buses and suggested places to visit near by. Kodachathri trek is close by and a must to go. Apart from that, there is a fort, a large lake and a waterfall which one should definitely visit.

A beautiful place and really a home stay. Feels like home. Ashok, the cook and the owner treat us like their family. Enjoyed thoroughly. Since I had gone for a shoot , could not enjoy the place around. Very accommodating folks.food was very tasty..

Best place for relaxing , very calm , staff and owner are very friendly . Serve Authentic veg food

This place is a must go for a natural detox. Surrounded by the lush green hills , this homestay truly feels like home away from home. The service is excellent , with simple South Indian food which tastes homely. It's nearby to local tourist attractions such as nagara fort, kodachadri and kolluru. We visited from bhadravathi and took us just about an hour and a half to reach this place. The homestay is maintained really well and clean. The rooms also have the facility to host four or more people in case a larger family wants to stay. The hosts are wonderful and will make sure you have a memorable stay.
