Childhood of Raghunath Das Goswami

Srila Raghunath Das, the combined incarnation of the potencies of Rati Manjari, Rasa Manjari, and Bhanumati Devi, was born into a wealthy Vaishnava family in Krishnapur. He received
guidance from stalwart Vaishnavas like Sri Yadunandana Acharya and Balarama Acharya in his childhood. Additionally, the presence of Namacharya Srila Haridasa Thakura profoundly
influenced him, paving the way for his later encounter with Lord Chaitanya.

Raghunath Das's Spiritual Pursuit

From a young age, Raghunath Das sought to meet Lord Chaitanya, encountering Him at fifteen in Santipur. Despite repeated attempts to leave home for Jagannatha Puri to accompany the Lord, he was sent back. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu advised him against false renunciation (markata
vairagya), urging him to engage in befitting renunciation (yukta-vairagya). Raghunath Das married as per his parents' wishes but remained internally devoted to Lord Chaitanya.

Raghunath Das's Transcendent Odyssey

Raghunatha Das harbored a deep longing to reunite with Lord Gauranga. Seizing an opportunity to escape, he fled to Puri, surrendering to Lord Caitanya. In Puri, he exhibited exemplary
renunciation, pleasing Mahaprabhu, who gifted him Govardhan Sila and Gunjamala.

Raghunatha Das's life of austerity and devotion remains an enduring source of inspiration, epitomizing the essence of surrender and devotion to the divine. While most cannot imitate his extreme renunciation, his example encourages seekers to cultivate deeper spiritual dedication and humility in their own lives.

An ancient holy place in debanandapur. Every year on 15th january their held a fair where you can see a hell lot of fish in different sizes.
