This is the best architecture I have seen so far. Its completely made up of wood carving. There is a kamakkha mandir at the top. The fort can only be viewed from outside.
The view from the top of the fort is excellent.

You have to trek around 1.1 km which will take around 20mins .

Though the trek is difficult but the view is just mesmerising.

Girls cannot visit the place during menstrual cycle.

To reach the top of Kamru fort one has to climb 150 to 200 irregular steps and have to hike for around half an hour but the view is worth the hike.
The fort is very old and well-maintained, this fort is a perfect example of ancient architecture and construction.
If you love history and architecture then this fort is a must-visit.

I recently visited this fort it's from the 15th century. It's a 20 min trek from the bus stop of sangla. This place is so calm and relaxing. you can feel the real silence here it is situated around the mountains and the view from this place is delightful. the guard aunty was helpful she told that we have to wear a cap and cloth on waist after that we can visit the premises also make sure don't take leather belt and wallet. I'll surely recommend you to visit this place.

Kamru fort is an ancient wooden fort located on a hill a few kilometers from Sangla town. It was the original seat of the Bushahr dynasty that ruled from here. The capital was later shifted to Sarahan..

Must visit place.
The climb is not very steep and is perfectly doable for mid aged person.
The history of the place and association with the religion makes the places a lively and beautiful destination.
Do not recommend to take cabs. They are costly and the climb itself is not very hard

This seems to describe encountering many apple trees on the way to a great place, and a requirement to wear a hat and a sash to enter.

A calm place in a small village
Currently, one temple is open to visit inside of the fort due to some construction going on. You can enter this by wearing a traditional cap, which is provided at the gate.

Also before reaching the fort there is Shri Badrinath temple also there. The temple's main gate is opened at some festivals, as informed by locals over there.

As per the local residents Kamru fort is 1800 years old, for now it is closed for maintenance, so can be seen from outside. Very old well maintained heritage site. You have to climb about 500 steps to reach this place.
Worth visiting.

A place full of History.
Kamru fort is an ancient wooden fort located on a hill a few kilometers from Sangla town. It was the original seat of the Bushahr dynasty that ruled from here. The capital was later shifted to Sarahan and then to Rampur, from where the last king Padam Singh ruled. The entrance to the hill has an arch to demarcate the beginning of the Kamru fort area. There are many families that live within this hill fort and you can see the Kinnauri women doing their every day work and some of the older ones chatting on the steps leading to the fort. Mid-way on the hill is Badri Narayan temple. You see woodcarvings all around when you stand in the middle of this temple complex. From here another flight of steps takes you to gate of Kamru fort where you must wear the Kinnauri cap on your head and a Gachhi around your waist to enter. Main door is closed now and you enter from a side gate. In the center of the complex stands the Kamakshi Devi temple, the idol of this temple is said to have come from the Kamakhya temple in Guwahati. On the right side stands a 5 storey wooden fort. The fort is in dilapidated state and you are not allowed to enter it. The windows at the top of the fort made me want to go there and see the view of the valley around.

The ever stunning Kamru Fort stands at an altitude of 2600 meters above sea level and is only 2 km from the beautiful Sangla Valley. The fort is set at a picturesque location and offers tourists beautiful views of the Sangla valley, which was made by Lord Badrinath Ji thousands of year ago. Inside the fort there are about 33 crore (330,000,000) gods and goddess. There is also a shrine to Kamakhya Devi inside the fort campus, which was brought there many years ago from Assam.

The Fort is located at very high altitude (2600 m above mean sea level), it is dedicated to Hindu Goddess Kamakhya Devi. 2 km from great Sangla valley. So many gates are there. You have to take at least one bottle of water during going towards temple. From top of the fort u can see the beautiful scene of Sangla valley.

This Historical Fort consists of a Buddist Temple, Badrivishal Temple and Kamakya Devi Temple. Needs some effort to climb using the passage from the car parking in the main road.

Located at a height of around 2600m above the mean sea level Kamru Fort is a historic tourist attraction around 2 km from beautiful Sangla Valley. Set in front of a scenic background, the fort exudes stunning views of magnificent Himalaya. The fort can be accessed crossing a series of gates. At the main gate a blissful statue of Lord Buddha blesses the visitors. The fort encloses a 15th century shrine of Lord Badrinath. The wooden balcony of the fort serves as an ideal spot to witness the grandeur of Himalayan landscape. On the third floor of the fort, there is an idol of Goddess Kamakhya which was believed to be brought from Guwahati, Assam. A famous fair dedicated to the deity is arranged once in three years. During this fair the deity of the temple is taken to Gangotri, the origin of river Ganga.

Nice architecture and great place to relax and view Kinner Kailash, Sangla valley and apple orchards. Kamru village is about 3 KM from Sangla bus stand. On reaching the gate of the village there is another 400 m (approx) hike.
