Mahanad Jateshwar Shiv Mandir(মহানাদ জটেশ্বর শিব মন্দির)

Mahanad is a very old settlement having a history of more than 2000 years. Gupta era coins were unearthed near this temple and there used to be a stone temple in this place which was destroyed by the invaders in the 12/13th century. Broken pieces & relics of the original temple is scattered around the new temple premises.

I had been to Itachuna Rajbari on Shiv ratri day this year during 18th feb 2023 with my wife.fortunately i got the information from the security team at Rajbari regarding this beautiful Shiv Mandir and grab this opportunity to visit this extremely good place which we would remember for ever

One of the oldest. Temple is clean, safe and beautiful with a market place attached - Joteswar Market. There's a Kali temple and a big huge Baniyan tree with the shiv temple. Some entry restriction are there.. Namely half pant and all. One liner? Old and well respected.

The place has great historical importance. The ruins of the ancient temple and the huge shiva linga under the banyan tree is the main attraction.

Lord Shiva himself resides here.The one of the holiest Temple on Planet.
