Beautiful and unique circular dvitala temple situated at the banks of Bharathapuzha. It is a must visit for those who are interested in temple architecture. There are two shrines, Mahishasuramardhini and Annapoorneswari, having their own temple complex with namaskara mandapam and valiyambalam

One of the best temple that you can reach easily from Palakkad Twon, I would say. Located at very scenic place. The Palakkad's village beauty is clearly visible all the way. The temple is very old , surrounded by High stone walls. A calm place. One side is Bharathapuzha. You can walk through a small pavement to reach there. Beautiful view. You can even enter the "ambalanada" by wearing jeans and pants, but you need to remove your shirt.

Amme sharanam 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏. This temple is in tiruvalathur in kodumbu panchayat ( I believe) which is hardly 6 KMS from palakkad town. It is situated on the shore of shokanashini river. Very serene and beautiful ambience. As it is Rendu moorthy ( two dieties) of Bhagavathy or Devi. You have to worship or visit Lordess Annaporneshwari first then go to Mahishasura mardini or Durga Devi. Ideal place for meditation, attaining Shanti. No commercialization. Sapta mathrakkal, Lord Ganapathi are also there. Karthika in Vrischikam is the main vishesham. Two kodimaram are the speciality.

Sree Randumoorthy Temple at Thiruvalathur is one of the 108 temples founded by Lord Parasurama. Dedicated to two forms of Mother Goddess - Mahishasuramardhini and Annapurnneswari, the temple celebrates its annual ten-day festival which ends on the Karthika asterism in the Malayalam month of Vrischikam (November-December). The major attraction of the festival is the lighting of Chuttuvilakku (stone lamps) surrounding the temple.

The ancient temple at Thiruvalathoor in Palakkad district has some fine woodwork and stone sculptures. Legend has it that the outer wall of the temple was built by an army of gods who worked at it the whole night but left it unfinished by dawn as they didn’t want to be seen by humans. Despite efforts later on, the work could not be completed and it is believed that humans cannot complete this work.

The 4,000 stone lamps fixed on the wall and lit up at night is a beautiful sight. Another attraction is the mizhavu - an instrument that is commonly used while performing the art forms of Chakyarkoothu and Kutiyattom - which is said to be the biggest among such existing ones.
