Sri Sukreeswarar Temple

Probably the oldest structure around Tirupur dating back 1200 yrs or even more. It looked the gopurams were built at a later time as it had a stark difference in colour compared to base. Lot of idols were missing.
It was crowded as it was a public holiday. Still people maintained queue to worship which was commendable.
Felt spiritual and serene.

One of the oldest and underated Shiva temple in Tirupur, I had a good spritual experience with the temple. It long back more than 1500 years. A different kind of architectural work all over the temple.

Om namah shivaya 🙏. Ancient temple. Located in Tirupur to Erode route. More inscriptions are there in the temple. To reach this temple, town buses available from Tirupur old bus stand.

One of the ancient temples on the outskirts on Tirpur city which is less known to the tourists is the Sukreeswarar Temple. It is surprising to know that even the people of Tirpur are not aware of this ancient temple. This temple is from 10th century and is located at Sarcar Periyapalayam (S. Periyapalayam). It lies on the Tirupur-Erode Uthukuli road highway, around 8 km from Tirpur. Lord Shiva (Sugreeswarar) is the main deity of the temple.

A place that can awaken all energies within and shake your entire body - wow, this place did that, so Divine and powerful.

We were lucky that a devotee had requested for Abhishekam when we reached in the evening and were blessed to witness the magnificent Shivalingam transforming in to a divine sight with full alankaara, step by step. Another experience one should experience. We felt that the divine power pulled us there on the day.

The place is a surprise again. Not many know in the nearby surroundings about this 2500+ years temple and people across the State visit here. It has its astrological significant where Sukhraan and Eswaran are at the same place.

Spend some time here and it would become a place in your plan to bring your bigger family.

A very good and pleasant Temple built decades ago. No alterations done so the old scripture and a fantastic work is still waiting for us to see them.

A must visit Temple

Maintained by Archeological survey of India. So, they are keeping it clean, simple and preserving those older looks. There are no special entry ticket, prasadham, etc., like other temples which are operated with money collection in mind.

It's was a very old temple located in Tirupur. The architecture shows like temple was more than 500 years old. It was well constructed and we can able to see Tamil letters written in stones around the temple. We have children park outside the temple. It's a good place to visit with family and kids.

Lord Shiva temple built in different style than other temples in region. Would have been better if some history about it written there (apart from one board from archeological dept.)

Tis is located in Uthukuli road opposite to Ramraj cotton factory unit.This is very old temple built using rocks.

Inscriptions of Cholas, Pandyas and Udayars are found in this temple. (There's no concensus on the actual age of the temple.)

It is one of the shrines of the Vaippu Sthalams
(Tamil hymns from 7th-8th century) sung by Tamil Saivite Nayanar Sundarar.

Most Olden temple more than 1000 yrs old king Raja Raja chola father sudhara chola period built this temple , the place name nallur full form is sundara chola nallur.... This temple is under Indian archeology department most suggestable place to visit

This is a awesome temple everyone had to visit. 2500 + years where Sukrivan came here and worshiped Lord Siva. Temple had two Nandis before it. There is also a Nandi before Parvathy Devi. Temple Comes under Archeology Department Research.
