Super calm temple , no much people on a weekend of winter day. Clean and well maintained. No parking fee. Roads are a bit dangerous to drive. Only expert drivers recommended.

It's a religious place, a temple dedicated to Devi Tara, a swaroop of Goddess Shakti herself. The beautiful temple shines at the top of a mountain from where one can get a fantastic panoramic view of entire Shimla. The temple's architecture is phenomenal as the entire formation of the temple is made from wood. The temple premises are also exceptionally neat and clean. However if you are travelling on your own conveyance, then the way is a bit steep, hence you need an expertise with your driving skills.

A must visit if you are in shimla no matter how far you are from the temple just go there once and you will never regret, if you are looking for some amazing pictures this is the go to place if you are a religious person its a must visit and if you want to feel the beauty of the nature and want to have a scenic view this is the go to place, there is no entry fee but make sure to maintain dignity and not to make the place dirty, avoid taking leather wallets and belts inside the temple, the best way to reach the temple is vie your personal car but if you want to take the bus there is a bus which go from old bus stand to Tara Devi temple from 1pm and the last bus which comes back from the temple is at 4pm there is no bus stand up there so keep the timings in mind, the place has really soothing ambience and in our case it was directly visible from our hotel room, hence must visit Jai tara devi ma.

First let me tell you something about Tara Devi Temple (Mandir). So, king Bhupendra Sen built the temple and after he had a vision in which Goddess Tara Devi asked him to install a template there so that people could get her blessings. A newly built wood and stone temple with slate roofing in traditional hill architecture style sits atop the ridge at the east edge of Tara Devi hill.Tara is a female deity in both Hinduism and Buddhism who personifies compassion and offers salvation from the suffering of rebirth and death. She is thought to have been born of empathy for the suffering world and is regularly invoked for protection, guidance, and deliverance from difficult situations.

Outing with family at such a place will provide you peace.
Beautiful place with amazing views and surroundings.

Tara Devi temple is situated at around 18 kms from Shimla old bus stand, situated at a beautiful hill from where whole Shimla is visible, although the road from Shoghi to Tara Devi of about 7 kms is narrow single road with sharp bends and steep climb, but local bus drivers are habitual of these sharp bends and climb.
The whole route from Shimla to Tara Devi is beautiful and the renovated temple with teak wood new look, is stunningly beautiful.
A must visit place when on tour to Shimla.
And yes on Sundays and Tuesdays a Bhandara is organized at the temple with five different items served with rice, and people will have to wait for their turn if they want to organize a Bhandara.

As you enter the premises, a sort of calmness prevails and one gets soaked in the bhakti of Ma Tara Devi temple in Himachal Pradesh India.
Along with HER deity there are other deities of Ma Saraswati and Ma Kali.
The entire view from the main balcony is mesmerizing and fills one's heart with joy and happiness.
After taking blessings from Ma one can have a Bhandara on Sunday and Tuesday.
A place worth visiting.

Reaching Tara Devi temple is quite an adventure. The narrow roads from Anandpur, Shoghi has some steep uphill turns & it's a fun drive uphill. Once you reach the parking lot (limited car parking space for around 100 vehicles) you need to climb up another 100+steps or take the ramp beside the steps. Both of them are easily doable. The temple area is very well maintained & neatly done. After Darshan of Tara devi, sitting inside the main sanctum is peaceful & so relaxing. We were lucky that it did not have enough visitors that day & crowd was well behaved & managed. The view of the valley is superb & you would like to spend more time there glaring around. It's a must visit if you are around Shimla hills.

It was at such a height and views were amazing. Though it was cloudy when I visited, but if you are lucky, you'll experience mesmerizing views.
