Hirpora (or Hir Pora or Heerpora) is a village in the Shopian district in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the second largest village in the district, after Devepora. It is situated on the Mughal Road, 12 km (7.5 mi) west of Shopian, which is its district headquarters; and 64 km (40 mi) from Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, via the Srinagar-Pulwama Road. To the west of Hirpora is the Peer Ki Gali mountain pass over the Pir Panjal Range.

Deep and dense

Went to hirpora lakes on 8-10 sept 2023. Explored 21 alpine lakes in 3 days in alpine style with heavy bagpacks. Started from Mughal Sarai to Chandansar. Camped there on day 2nd left campsite early in the morning and eploded lakes in upper region and came back at evening. On day third took a circuit from nandansar and descended through pir ki gali.
