One of the oldest bakeries in Kolkata. Tried their walnut cake and special rich fruit cake during the Christmas and they were extremely delicious.

This hidden gem the only Goan bakery in Kolkata, amidst the mundane narrow lane of Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road, running since 1930s. Their walnut cake & brownies are to die for. Will visit again after Christmas for trying their choco trat. Must visit place for cakes during christmas.

Visited Saldanha on 23rd December evening to get this year's walnut cakes. We had to stand in a queue for nearly 1.5 hours. Besides the walnut cakes we also tried brownies and blueberry muffins. All I can say is that the wait was worth it. They have maintained their quality over the years.

It's a damn good cake shop. Very quaint and old world charm. But it is cash only though.

But the cakes are damn good and as good as nahoum or any other bakery in Kolkata.

Finding it a bit tough though. The Google map shows its accurate position so if you follow that you won't miss it.

There's no place to sit and eat. The bakery is on the ground floor and the purchase point is on the first floor, directly accessible from the ground through a staircase.

One warning though, they are so busy that by evening almost everything runs out.

The bakery has great cakes. Lines can be long. Worth the wait. Some menu items are exhausted before closing due to demand.

There are so many recommendations to visit this bakery. So, I decided to visit the 'hidden gem' in Kolkata. At first, I tasted only the walnut cake which is the special item of this bakery and as well as british tea time cake. The taste of both of these cakes were superb and the quality was top notch. It was freshly baked. Later I also tried the rich fruit cake during christmas. Every items of this bakery is mouth watering. So, highly recommended this bakery.

Considering the price my rating is 7/10. Items are good but not some thing extraordinary. Price is at gigher side.

Difficult to locate if you're a first time visitor and parking is an issue, do not take four wheeler if you go to buy cake.

Only thing good about this place are the cakes. And that is all that matters. Nothing like other bakeries, no glass cases, no shiny counters no displays, but my oh my what cakes they make. Each one a masterpiece. Walnut cake is good enough to be made mandatory purchase.

Despite the incredible pressure of the crowd of buyers, the staff manages to remain calm and pleasant. You can get a limited menu from the Christmas days to the New Year eve. The full menu will be resumed after that. Food is amazing and trustworthy quality.

When the food is good you don't even care about the atmosphere... Like this is heaven for any kind of bakery... If you are planning to visit during December and January better save some time from daylight because queue will be too much .. their cakes are best....

Another hidden gem in this melting pot of Kolkata. Their signature dishes are amazing. Coconut Macaroons are filling and sumptuous, pair it with a cup of steaming black coffee. The chicken patty is flaky and crunchy with quality fillings, unlike the grated chicken crumbs in other places. Walnut cake is also great. Most other savouries and breads are available on prior order, so pick up the phone NOW.

Had a chance to try their fruit cake because of my father's office. And this is one of the simplest and yummy no-nonsense mixed fruit cake. The sugar quantity is just perfect although it's on the lower side it's just perfect. Freshly baked cakes for winter evening is perfect 😁

We were going to Saldanhas for the first time and it was an experience we loved… Got the usual Christmas things—the Christmas cake was beautifully moist, the macaroons and brownies were to die for, and the chicken patties and chicken sausage rolls were absolutely delicious. The macaroons had a scrumptious amount of coconut, and the patties and rolls had ample stuffing. These were not all crust with a tiny bit of filling. We are definitely going to try all the other delicacies on offer…

This place is heaven of Cake Lover's.
It's a very old Jewish home bakery in Kolkata. There bakery item has a authentic & unique taste.
They has a huge variety of items. But, you have to pre order atleast a day before. There's popular product is, Walnut Cake, Rich Fruit Cake, Chocolate Brownie, Cheese Puff, Chicken Patties...etc.
Here, you will get a flavour of old day bakery.
You must see a queue here at the time of Christmas.

More than 100 years old, run by a goan family and this is their fourth generation running now. Must havs are Apple, blueberry and lemon tarts, fruit cake and plum cake. Their savory items are also brilliant. Their behaviour is also very much friendly. But the only drawback is they do not accept cards or phonepay any kind of online transaction app. Only only hard cash 😄

Cakes are extremely good, even better than flurys and the French loaf. Situated amidst a very congested place. Although a heaven for cake lovers. Rich fruit and walnut cakes are must try.

I tried their Rich Fruit Cake and Choco Walnut Cake in big cakes. Both are superb. Brownie, muffin, patties and other savouries are also too good.
