Beautiful home that one is privileged to get a chance to savour. The food and service is next level. The attention to detail is evident in everything that you experience there. The personal attention paid to the guests by the owners is unique and an experience by itself.

It’s a privilege to stay at such an amazing place which still exist in today’s world. A colonial type of place with the impression of British era. Comfortable and spacious rooms with beautiful views. Delicious food and beautiful landscapes. An amazing place to be in Shimla.

Beautiful preserved historic house now a hotel. Centrally located in Shimla. Only two minutes walk to the Mall. The hosts are very pleasant.
It is quite and has a very pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend.

My family is from Himachal, and we try to spend a minimum amount of time in Shimla to avoid the crowds, noise, and pollution. Chapslee is a magical door that takes you to another dimension. There are no words that can do justice to how special the place is, but I will try:

First of all, the house and grounds have been beautifully preserved. This is very, very hard to do. And still the rooms are comfortable, luxurious even. The staff takes the place to a whole other level. They are attentive without being cloying or intrusive, there to help whenever it’s needed, and then out of site to give you privacy. And don’t go out to eat, the meals are fantastic. Finally, the owner is absolutely lovely, if you are lucky you will be able to have tea with her in the afternoon.

In terms of location, it is perfectly situated within a 10 minute walking distance to the Mall Road for shawl shopping. But honestly when I come back, I will take a few days and just not leave the place. It maintains a beauty that is quickly disappearing, if you come to Shimla I hope you have the chance to experience it.

As a side note, when writing travel reviews, it’s important to know something about the reviewer. I travel quite a bit for work, which takes me to places from Dubai to Afghanistan to Malawi. My preferences on lodgings vary depending on the location and context, but in general I don’t like fuss, I don’t like all-inclusive resorts, I hate cruises. I want somewhere that’s clean, well-appointment, comfortable, and unique.

Lastly, remember how I mentioned preserving historic buildings is very hard to do? Well, there are some areas at Chapslee where the wall paper is slightly crinkled and torn, some small pieces of furniture show wear. If these are things that will bother you, then please don’t bother coming here. Go stay at a chain hotel where everything will be new but generic and cheaply done. To me, this is like going to Italy and eating at McDonalds for every dinner. But hey, everyone has their own taste!

Beautiful old home not far from the Ridge in Shimla. A step back into a former time - silver service, wood fireplaces, period furniture, attentive staff. Loved it.

This amazing Heritage home in Shimla is owned by Kunwar Chanderjeet sigh the son of Raja Ratanjit Singh of Kapoorthala. The house was originally built as secretary's lodge, along with Auckland House standing next to it. Later it was purchased, in 1938, by Raja Charanjeet Singh and inherited by his son Raja Ratanjit Singh.

The house is elegantly decorated by antiques, old furniture, paintings, carpets and Chandeliers. It has 5 rooms opens for the tourists. The guests are given a Royal treatment and feel like a Raja. Come and stay there. It is lifetime experience.

This wonderful family homestay is once in a lifetime experience with excellent food and customer service. Historical highlights are evident throughout this fabulous house. Visitors will not be disappointed

I came to this place with the Intention of visualizing the Architecture of Erstwhile summer palace of Raja Kapurthala. The warmth of hospitality took it to a different level of experience. I would recommend this Boutique hotel to all the heritage lovers.

Chapslee is a beautiful hotel ,You don't realize how the day goes by at Chapslee, here the silence is so immense that you can hear a pin drop,he food is like everything else here - you can't get enough! I could spend weeks in this house without stepping out, and still want more.

Very beautiful resort with amazing view of mountains and the resort is so maintained and you got the historic vibes out there a very nice garden for outdoor seating and the staff Is really beautiful
