From the moment I stepped into the hotel, the service was exceptional. The staff's genuine care for guests set a new standard of hospitality. One of the best property for a luxury stay in our country.

Loved the room and its balcony views. With greenery all around, it gives you peace and serenity allowing you to snatch some moments to rest and rejuvenation. Look forward to visiting soon and being delighted again :)

The rooms were very neat and clean. The old architecture of the place added to the luxury feel. They have worked hard to keep the property spic and span. The staff was amazing, they were very polite and courteous. They never said no to anything. The location is the Oberoi Cecil is also great. Overall a 100/10 to the Oberoi Cecil.

The Oberoi Cecil is an amazing hotel! Beautiful location and rooms with very attentive staff. Chef Raj Kumar went out of his way every day to ensure that our desires were fulfilled- delicious breakfast, high tea and dinner items!! Can’t wait to come back

A flawless stay at Oberoi Cecil. The staff of the hotel are wonderful, with an incredible service-level and attention to detail. The property itself is magnificent, and our room with a balcony facing the valley was an incredibly special place.

A very special time for myself and my girlfriend, as we got engaged during our stay in Shimla. The staff at both Cecil and Oberoi Wildflower Hall (proposal location) were incredible in organising a perfect proposal, and their attention to detail in welcoming us back to Cecil and decorating our room with celebratory decorations made it all the more special.

It would be difficult to fault our time at Oberoi Cecil, and we will be returning as soon as possible. Many thanks to the amazing staff of this very special hotel!

The Cecil Shimla exudes an old-world charm with its colonial architecture, elegant interiors, and breathtaking views of Shimla valley. Staying at Cecil is like stepping back in time while enjoying modern amenities and world-class hospitality. The staff is polite, welcoming and absolutely hands on!

What you cannot miss at Cecil is the food! And a special mention for this goes to Chef Rajkumar (a 7 star chef). He goes out of his way and ensures all his guests have a memorable meal. He makes sure the food is as per the guests palette and curates meals accordingly.
He is an absolute legend and it would be a crime to miss out on his food.

Everything is just Awesome!!! We booked the Premium room with Valley View but they gave us an upgrade to Luxury Suite with Living room which is the best room in the hotel 😍😍 We really enjoyed the stay!! Such nice hospitality, Clean big rooms, good view of valley, heated rooms with thermostat, nice breakfast spread with huge variety, heated swimming pool is cherry on top😍. Just roam around the hotel and feel the British era hotel vibes! We loved the evening dance show around fireworks too. It's worth the penny you spend.

Went for lunch recently with family. Awesome presentation and outstanding taste. We shared three small plates - Poached egg with avocado and Serrano ham, Baked Camembert and parmesan fondue and Polenta calleloni with some heavenly filling that escapes me now. Michelin star quality of food.

It was a marvelous stay at The Cecil. No wonder Oberoi brand has maintained its reputation over so many decades. A beautiful,grand property. One feels a part of history. Staff is very polite and courteous. Go the extra mile to please the guests . Food is delicious. Highly recommend

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Oberoi Cecil - Shimla and it was a truly exceptional experience. While the hotel itself provided excellent service what truly impressed me was the exceptional culinary experience by Head chef Mr. Rajkumar Bhatia. From the very first meal it was evident that chef Bhatia is the master of his craft. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable stay with exceptional food and chef Rajkumar Bhatia!

We have stayed in a number of very nice hotels during our trip to India but the Cecil is the best by far. It is a beautiful building, the rooms are excellent and the staff are attentive and friendly. Breakfast was also the best so far. Every hotelier in India should stay in the Cecil to see how it’s done.

I just can’t experience in words how amazing my experience has been. The staff is so polite and helpful with my kid. They took care of every need of my little daughter and spoiled her with lots of soft toys and activity books. I feel u will have the best experience in terms of service in this property.

Chandeliers paintings absolutely eye catchy ..the massive grand stairs in lobby for going in rooms was outstanding make u feel wow..super super super courteous staff..must visit place..

The hotel is splendid and the staff is incredibly kind and helpful. The chef Rajkumar is amazing, his food is the most delicious I have ever had in India! I hope to be back soon.

This place is away some. I love this place. Staff behaviours are excellent. Neat & cleaning area. The decoration of rooms, is was amazing. Lovely. When you enter in reception you will get welcomed. Service is also excellent.

The hotel is located in Chaura Maidan, Shimla, and offers an indoor heated swimming pool, spa, and three dining options. The staff and management were excellent, and the general manager was most courteous and professional. The hotel is situated at the quiet end of the famous Mall and is an ideal base from which to discover the unique beauty of the spectacular Himalayan ranges, Cedar forests, and ancient monasteries

A cold Mesmerizing Trip!!!

A well planned trip to Shimla , India for our summer vacation here in Canada but it was the monsoon season in Shimla.

My husband booked our vacation to Shimla on August 2022, and from a friends recommendation he booked us to stay at the The Oberoi Cecil Shimla.

We drove from Delhi to Shimla and it was a dangerous drive due to landslides as went went during the monsoon season and as it’s a hillside location most of the roads were blocked or traffic was very slow.

The best part was when we reached our Hotel The Oberoi Cecil, we we’re dead tired and late but the staff were so welcoming and friendly and impressed us immediately with a warm welcome drink and made us comfortable before our check in process.

Speaking about the hotel Architecture was the most beautiful thing it looked like a palace and had that heritage looks also the atmosphere was so beautiful what can I say the wooden stairway, The high beams and the interior and exterior was just jaw dropping.

Now what took us to surprise was the rooms it was very clean, spacious and comfortable the bathroom had all the amazing amenities and everything was just perfect it gave you the royal vibes.

We just loved the breakfast spread and the chef personally came to us and made sure my children enjoyed their breakfast and got us everything we wanted and again I go about praising royalty it made us feel royal.

The staff are always smiling and happy to help they talk with you every day to make sure you are happy and comfortable.Even our taxi tour ride was excellent the chauffeur was very friendly and helpful showed us all the beautiful sightseeing places as this was our first trip to Shimla.

The hotel exterior is also breathtaking and beautiful you have the feeling your in the clouds.

The Oberoi Hotel also had another property called Wildflower Oberoi and we were allowed to visit and enjoy the restaurant cuisine at Wildflower Oberoi too.

So, if you want to feel like a King and Queen this is your place to visit if you plan a vacation in India and want a hillside feel do plan to book your hotel at The Oberoi Cecil, Shimla your will be surprised and it’s worth every penny you spend.

A big shout out to all the staff at the front office, the guest relations, the house keeping and the restaurant staff especially the executive chef.

If we plan another trip we will surely stay at either of your properties.

This property and its staff is the gold standard for what excellence in service should look like. We were there for just 2 days but the staff took great care of us, whether be it any amenities, local sightseeing / restaurants recommendations, arranging staff in their sister property Wildflower for hiking, they go out of their way to ensure the guests have an excellent time.

The breakfast with a view is not to be missed in this property, its grand and watching the lovely hills in the morning with delicious food with hot coffee, what else can one ask for.

Special call out their front office manager Deepika who was extremely nice and pleasant to engage in a conversation and helped us in every possible way.

Somethings which can be added in the property: Jacuzie would be so nice after miles of walk throughout the day, it would be relaxing to soak yourself in the hot water.

Steam room thermostat was not working and the temperature in the steam room was very high that it almost became impossible to sit and relax in the steam room.

Overall good property - much smaller property than usual 5 stars, but it has all the things, which one would expect from Oberois.

Amazing place. Simply beautiful. The staff could not have been better, my housekeeper- I think his name is Suni - was absolutely brilliant. It would be great if you could let them know.
