Himalyan Kothi Kais. BEST RESORT IN KULLU, BEST RESTAURANT IN KULLU, BEST BANQUET HALL IN KULLU

We had a memorable 2 days at The Himalayan Kothi. Pet friendly, 6 location, beautiful kothi, good service, friendly staff & good food. We thoroughly enjoyed some unique Himachali experiences like staying in Kath-kuni home, learning to make Siddu & foraging.

Great ambiance with delicious food 🔥...must visit place!

One of the best offbeat locations, and the stay has a whole classy feel. The architecture is very different and looks like old time designs. The dining room has huge glass panes so that you can see the view while you have the delicious food.

This places is 10-15 kms away from the Kullu town. It gives a perfect view of the Western Himalayan mountains and the Beas River. The traditional Kathkuni architecture gives the place its rich feel. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the Manalis and Kasols of the world, which makes it peaceful even if you are going there towards the year end. Me and my wife stayed there for 3 nights and fell in love with the place. The food is homecooked by Balbir Paaji, who makes you feel belonged. It is freshly prepared, has a local flavor and the taste stays on your tongue for quite some time. We tried their Rajma (Himachali style - best dish I had during my entire HP journey), Chicken Rara, Dal Makhni and other breakfast items. The owners will take you through a tour of the place including the Apple and Peach plantations. We went there during winters, however when these trees bear fruits around May-Aug, the place must be nowhere short of heaven. We will visit this place again for sure.
You may want to ditch the commercially sabotaged accomodations of Manali, Kasol and rather visit this gem in Kullu. It will have a lasting impression for sure

Wonderful stay at Kothi Kais for 3 days last week. The rooms were superb, the food was delicious, and the property was absolutely wonderful!

Balbir is a great chef and Gopal was there to help us throughout our stay with whatever we required!

Our dog, Leo, especially loved the gardens and orchards full of fresh fruits and flowers.

Looking forward to going back and sipping chai with a book on the wonderful balcony area on the first floor.

It’s in the interiors and the roads leading are rough but it’s all worth. Decent old style rooms made of slate rocks, wood and glass.
Rooms service is good and food is nice.
Owners Rajeev & Shalini and the staff are very cooperative and helpful.

Wonderful place to stay. (pet friendly).

It's a beautiful boutique property in kais with all the basic amenities. The host Mr. Rajiv is a very generous man and is there for any assistance if required. The property is 3.5 kms away from the market area which makes it a perfect place for peace and relaxation. Since the market is a little far away , you can carry some snacks with you . Also, they don't serve alcohol in the property but if you want you can bring your own. They have a proper menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food is really good. They have in house kitchen and you can get the food either in your rooms or you can chill at the gazebo. They have not installed television in rooms and I think that is perfect for some time away from the digital world. The property offers you an excellent view throughout the day. They have beautiful apple orchards and have set up a garden where you can sit and relax. In the morning, you can hear all the birds chirping around you. I would recommend the place for family groups, couples and for those who want to be away from all the hustle.

I totally love the place. Everything about the place was pure bliss. There was a mountain view. The room was so comfortable. The place was filled with flowers. Balbir bhaiya who was taking care of that place is an amazing host, he was friendly, helpful and he speaks English. The food was amazing. Delicious meals everyday. Cleanliness, food, rooms, service, staffs, safety, location, view - I would rate 7 star for all of it. It's the best stay I have had. Loved it. I would recommend this to everyone. It's a must stay place. To have all the peace in the world. And that is all that I could ask for.

Do not go to this hotel if you want to watch an episode of your favorite series on TV while you are on a holiday. You will be terribly disappointed as they do not offer a TV or a Wi-fi service. However, if you are a true explorer and want to shut yourself off the daily routine then you are in for an experience to remember. The Super-delux room is Amazing with a warm and welcoming Staff. Freshly cooked breakfast with a breathtaking view from the balcony leaves an impression. I have two lasting memories of this place:
1. A bon-fire at the lawns on a cold winter night with the snow clad himalayas right in front
2. Golden apples given to us by a staff from his own stock as there were none left in the orchard behind. Now thats Himachali hospitality!

The place is just paradise. If your are looking for peace and quiet. This is the place to be. It is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed in. It is far away from the hustle and bustle of a city. The owners are very down to earth. They were extremely caring and welcoming. The food is absolutely like 'ghar ka khana' what ever one needs to eat is made fresh by Balbir. He is the care taker. Very helpful even in sharing the places one can visit around. It was a fantastic experience. Will definitely visit again.

The experience was simply amazing. To begin with, the location of the cottage offers a supreme view of the valley and the snow capped mountains. The cottages are easy to reach via google maps. Their hospitality (especially from Mr. Vishal) and food is amazing. The rooms are clean and very comforting. The place is very relaxing and for those who wish to be away from the hustle and bustle of the town, its a must visit. They don't offer liqour at the cottages but you can still carry your own. To have a better view of the mountains and the valley, you can drive 5 kms up the hill or you can hike to enjoy view from different angles. If you're going up the mountains, an umbrella and a binocular is a must carry. In addition to offering an iconic view of the valley, one can also see many people paragliding from the mountains. Another important thing which you must carry along is medicines. When going into the mountains you must have medicines for headache, vomitting, stomach ache, food poisoning etc. I'm writing this because in mountains you will not find pharmacy within several kilometres and this is something we realized in our following trip after Kais when we went to Tirthan Valley. After reaching Tirthan Valley, my wife fell ill in the evening as she got food poisoning after eating food at Tirthan Valley. Hence, I had to rush to pharmacy which was 3 kms uphill to get medicine but the medicine wasn't much effective so we had to return to Chandigarh early which was not as planned. As far as the stay at Himalayan Kothi Kais is concerned, it was wonderful and I would recommend people to visit here.

An amazing place to chill out and stay. A few kms from Kullu ( costs you 600 by cab ). The host Mrs. shalini is really a visionary for the place. Seated right below their cast Apple Orchid, Himalayan Kothi is definitely a detox centre for your mental and physical detox. An amazing place and good food and hospitable staff the place is peaceful and looks at the snowy mountains in the winter. Equipped with heaters in all rooms, wardrobes, geysers, comfortable beds and wooden clad flooring and ceiling, the rooms are clean and amazing. A must visit stay when you come to Kullu.

If you hadn’t stayed over here.. believe me you hadn’t stayed in real Himachal!

The food is absolutely desi and so relish. They staff ever so ready to help, we reached there at a really odd hour. Nevertheless, we had piping hot food on our arrival which was so nice after a long journey. The views are just flabbergasting!!

It is 24 hours since we have been here and I just could not resist posting my feedback, right away!

WHAT A PLACE! An absolute Paradise indeed! A perfect place to embrace "Art of doing NOTHING!"

Himalyan Kothi Kais is a stunning 5-room wood & stone chalet-style Villa, built in the traditional Himachali 'Kath-kuni' architecture, atop a hill-top. Overlooking snow clad mountains in the horizon, green hill tops all around, with river Beas flowing by deep-down, it just CANNOT get more magical than this... And that too, amidst a well maintained & operating Apple / Peach orchard!

AND it is flowers galore all around - a stunning collection of different shades of gigantic roses, hydrangea, mesmeric trailing ice-plants, welcome lillies, yellow Jasmines, petunias, geraniums... Almost like a miniature Botanical garden! WOW!

Coming to the villa itself, the rooms are well appointed & spacious with all facilities within. Of course, being built in the traditional style with ZERO mortar , some space adjustments have to be done accordingly.

The main ingredient of this wonderful heritage paradise is the abundant TLC showered on this heritage home, by the owner Shalini Vats. Her personal involvement into everything is SO obvious and it truly makes a big difference.

Food is prepared by the inhouse Chef/caretaker - Balbir Bharadwaj ji. Simple, pahadi cuisine at its best!

So, IF you are seeking solace, calm, bliss AND away from the madding crowds, in the Valley of Gods - Kullu, do stay at this heritage paradise - Himalyan Kothi Kais.

We had huge plans for the day - to drive around, go to Kullu town etc. Etc. BUT after experiencing the place first hand, we just decided to Chill . Relax . Rejuvenate!
