KTDC Garden House Malampuzha

The hotel is surrounded by forest and mountains. 15 mins walk from Malampuzha dam. From the window the mountain ranges are visible, which play hide and seek everyday based on the weather. When Misty, they disappear. When sunny, they are towering. Looking at these majestic view relaxes the mind.

The hotel has a restaurant attached. Sudheesh, Jayakumar and Avinash were the ones who served us at the restaurant during the stay. Quick at service and their hospitality was awesome. Though not much variety, food served was good and at reasonable price.

For cheap and best stay, this is highly recommended.

Great place to stay in Malampuzha, right near the dam and gardens. The property offers great rooms at great prices, with good service and ample car parking. The in house restaurant serves tasty food, but they may need to be informed in advance for lunch/ dinner.

Property with a direct view of the Malampuzha Dam. Just 200m walk from the hotel to the garden entrance. Located on top of a small hill adjacent to the dam.

It is a very old property. But rooms are all refurbished and are good. It is great value for money considering the location and facilities. I would say this is the first choice among the only 3 or 4 stays in this locality.

The restaurant serves only common Kerala dishes which are very tasty. They don't have a menu. You will have to choose from 2 or 3 options.

Service is very good and almost all requirements of guests are handled promptly and professionally.

Good Property in Palakkad to stay out especially adjacent to Malampuzha Dam. Good Quality Food as usual, the Trade Mark of KTDC hotels. Not that much spicy too. One can see an overview of Malampuzha Dam from here as it is situated at a height right at par with the Dam. Nice Breeze in the front. Thought of taking a lap beneath the tree in front.

The rooms are good and spacious. The pillows looked really old and poor quality which is a con. Also the fragrances used are similar to hospitals which again is not that pleasant. Rest everything is top class. The view and ambience is great

Great stay. Good and hygienic rooms. Service is also good. Very near to malampuzha Dam. The only problem I have seen is there is a beer parlour near the hotel. People drink from outside and throw the bottles here and there. However there is no disturbance to the guests.

KTDC Garden House is absolutely delightful place to stay in - spacious rooms, great location, good upkeep of linen. Staff are polite and helpful, especially Biju at the Reception, and always smiling Jayakumar at the restaurant.

Only request is to give more options for vegetarian dining.

All staff are responding fast and efficient. Pricing is reasonable.

Superb location. Nice and neat restaurant with yummy food. Helpful staff. Nearby beer parlour, not so great, but OK for just relaxing.
Rooms are clean and spacious. Morning breakfast also good, don't go outside if you're getting the food late.

It was a really good experience to stay there at garden house, the staff are really very friendly and we really love the ambiance. The rooms are neat and tidy and the bathrooms with adequate toiletries. The views from the room is very nice. Food at restaurant is nice with reasonable prices.

Food is not good and very costly

This is near malambuzha....just 500 metre form malabuzha and is on the way to kava. The ktdc have a peaceful atmosphere and gives a pleasants of mind and the view from the place is pretty good.so we can spent more tym just staring at the place view. There will be no disturbance in the area no hustle no traffic sounds no sound of vehicles...if we stay there we could enjoy the whole place very much.It has a good room service food is also pretty good. Quality of the food is also very well maintained.

Nice place for lunch after a bit of exhaustive walk around near park. It has limited dining facility say for 30 people max as it serves its guest mostly but open for outsider also. Nice meals we had for lunch. Although they didn't serve white rice, only Kerala rice. The fish fry was very tasty.

Although I'm a resident of this district even i missed out on this after reading the reviews.

It was an accidental gaze (while returning after enquiring with other hotels in the same area) which took me to this hotel to enquire. And boy, what a location it is. No other hotel in the area can boast about a scenic beauty that this place enjoys.

Hotel is situated atop a small hill which provides the best views of the mountains as well as the dam.

And since it got renovated recently, there are no negatives about the rooms from my side.
I visited all the top rated hotels in Palakkad personally, because i wanted my in-laws who were coming for the first time to this small town feel refreshed from this place and leave with fond memories.
This was the last property i saw that day and immediately fell in love with it and booked 5 rooms from 7-13 Jan 2016 for 11 people.
I don't want to use words to describe this place. Before i left, i made sure, i capture all angles on camera for all readers to see for themselves and feel the same excitement that i felt on seeing this property.

Bottomline-being a property in Malampuzha ( the main tourist spot of Palakkad), this has its advantages and disadvantages.

Advantage- best scenic place

Disadvantage- far from town, not suitable for business traveler. ( But , bus service to Malampuzha garden is frequent, and hotel is hardly 500m from the main entrance of the garden, so one can walk easily or take take an auto).

We went to Palakkad for an architectural study trip. We were a group of 32. The staff was very friendly. Mr. Sujil was the hotel manage and he makes us feel like home. Mr. Irshad, Food Manager and his team was excellent and always served us delecious food. They were always ready to help us and never said no for anything we asked for. We would definitely go again here in near future. A big thank you to Mr. Sujil, Mr. Irshad and his team for serving us with delicious food everyday.
