Tipsea Turtle Gili Air

A truly special place. The people, the atmosphere, the location - absolute magic. Right on the beach. Quiet and secluded enough for unwinding and rest, but enough venues around to not get bored. Lovely bar area where some fun can unfold, but without that rough and reckless energy you find in party hostels. Free yoga really tops off the deliciousness that is tipsea turtle.

Had a blast at this hostel! Super clean and cozy vibes all around. The staff were mega friendly, making it feel like home right away. But the real kicker? The daily activities they had going on. I was only supposed to crash for two nights, but I ended up staying for a whole week.

Whether you're in for some chill time or keen on meeting new folks, this place has got it all. It's the perfect mix of laid-back and social. Definitely recommend!

Really enjoyed my stay at Tipsea Turtle Gili Air!! The hostel has everything you need, including comfortable beds and hot water in the showers. Especially, the staff positively influenced my time there, as everyone was very open and helpful. If I had more time, I would definitely have extended my stay!

Stayed in one of the private rooms with my partner. Great place, staff extremely friendly and welcoming, and there are multiple social events every single day, including snorkeling trips, group dinners, little icebreaker games, and a different club or bar in the evening. Free breakfast every morning (the same one every morning, but heck, it’s free). Room was super comfy and well air-conditioned, and the location is amazing, right on the beach and right near turtle point (where apparently you’re more likely to see turtles in the water, though we saw them all over). Only complaint is that for the price point, feels like they should clean the rooms/replace towels, which they don’t do.

Tipsea Turtle is the best hostel I've ever stayed at. It is so social, with activities all day and every evening. It is located right on the beach and they have a really cute hostel cat named tripsea. Breakfast is great, beds are extremely comfortable, it is clean, drinks are AMAZING, everything is great. It's also so easy to make lots of friends. I would highly recommend staying here.

Enjoyed my stay here, everything was perfect; clean rooms, good breakfast every morning, social hostel! Extended my stay twice. Nice that they have a dive shop just infront of the hostel, super convenient and diving in Gili is phenomenal. Can't thank the lovely staff enough for making my stay perfect!

I loved my stay at Tipsea Turtle and would have loved to stay longer if I hadn't already had my flight home. It's the best hostel I've ever stayed in anywhere in the world. The rooms and also the common areas are great and always clean, the staff are fantastic and the general atmosphere is indescribably awesome. It felt like a little piece of home on the other side of the world. Definitely recommended and I would love to come back!

Absolutely amazing hostel if you want a mixture of a peaceful stay combined with the possibility of hanging out and meeting new people. Staff was truly wonderful and always ready to help with any question. The hostel offers a wide variety of activities. Location is right by the sea with beach access. The cocktails arw amazing ;) I stayed at the bungalow, which was very perfectly equipped and made it a very pleasant stay. Discounts for diving at Next Level Scuba are available and highly recommendable. Will definitely come back to this hostel.

Loved our stay at Tipsea Turtle. The rooms and common areas are great and there is a great atmosphere at the hostel! The staff were amazing and so welcoming, particularly Eriel who really went above and beyond! Definitely recommend :)

Perfect location. Staff are so lovely and friendly. The hostel itself is very comfortable and has a great pool area. Free breakfast is really good also

I loved my stay here. The toilets and showers were clean and the rooms were nice. The staff was very friendly. I totally recommend staying here.

We stayed in the family bungalow with our 2 young kids. It was clean, spacious, comfy and just a few steps away from the beach. Our kids loved the pool with its diving platform and waffles for breakfast. We rode bikes around the island and feel that this was one of the better spots to stay. It was quiet but also had a good vibe with some good restaurants and cafes within walking/riding distance. You can snorkel right out the front where you might see the biggest turtle you've ever seen. The people are really nice, friendly and helpful, and there is no haggling which we found on the other islands. Gili Air is great, it's a good mix whether you want to go for a night out or chill out by the beach. With plenty of chillout bars, cafes, and restaurants but also the option for some karaoke, live music, and even pub crawls. It's definitely our favorite island of the 3.

I escaped Gili T from a terrible stay and Tipsea Turtle saved me from hating it altogether.

It’s a wonderful hostel in terms of welcoming, warm and clean.

It’s right in front of the beach. You just have to walk 25 mins from the main port and they don’t have any food available readily other than breakfast.

I love this hostel! It’s really social but not too noisy. There was a good mix of people of different ages, free yoga, amazing cocktails and the kindest staff!

One of the nicest hostels i ever stayed in! The vibe, the staff, the yoga, the breakfast, the cocktails and the guitar and singing sessions at the beach- all is exceptional! And the cuuuutest kittys. Already extented my stay and going to do this another time, haha. Thanks for everything 😍

We had the best time ever in the Tipsy Turtle hostel. From the moment we walked in, we had the feeling we were so welcome. Especially after months of traveling going to the tipsy turtle felt the same as going to stay in a place with all family and friends. From the breakfast in the morning to the activities in the evening everything is just fun and amazing. You will meet loads of people and even the island because the activities they promote are not all at the hostel self so you will get to know more than just the hostel to hang out in the evening. We want to thank Kyle and the amazing staff for our stay and we hope that sometime we can go back and visit again. Love Georgie & Tess.

Highly recommend! The deluxe double room was perfect - a clean and quiet sanctuary. The staff are fantastic, so chatty and helpful and their enthusiasm goes a long way to create a relaxed, friendly vibe. As a solo traveller, I found it easy to meet people at this hostel

Had the most incredible time volunteering at this hostel as a promoter! The location is perfect, right on the beach (the best for snorkelling), beds are comfy, and the pool area/ bar is such a perfect social space. But what made my experience so special was the people I met along the way. The incredible staff (Thank you Rido for all the hard work you put in and Ozzyyyyy for the most incredible cocktails you’ll find on the island and the rest of you❤) and solo travellers I was so lucky to meet here, we all bonded so well, such a funny group we made. If you want a mix of chill and quiet but also want to meet other solo travellers and party this place is for you!!!

The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly! Made a lot of good friends here! The pool area is amazing ! Very chill! They organize games at night!
