Abdi Homestay

The most beautiful Homestay I've been to. The setting took my breath away really. The huts are directly under this waterfall, it's amazing. The hut was very comfortable and big and even had a hammok on the terrace. The dinner was very good! I'm so glad I could stay there for 2 nights. Could have stayed for a week.

We spent three days at this amazing, silent location. The bungalows are very good and clean with a balcony and hammock. Staff and owner speak very good Englisch which is not obvious at Sumatra. On our request they made us vegan pancakes for breakfast and in the evenings we got the best vegan food of our 1 month stay at Sumatra. Also it was always so much that we could hardly finish it.

A wonderful family run homestay.
The rooms have everything you need with an ensuite bathroom and the private balcony has comfortable hammock looking over the waterfall. Food is delicious and very different everyday, vegan options are available. So don’t hesitate, go to Abdi‘s homestay! :)

Abdi is a real nice place to stay in a natural place, really close to waterfalls, in the middle of the rice field and the valley. You can find differents paths for short walks near the rice field.
Futhermore, Abdi and Noni want to take care of you and help you.
Everyday you can ask for local food. Noni's cook is really tasty and abundant.

Nice place to stay.very peaceful subahanallah with nice view,nice people.the rates include breakfast i suggested u to choice banana pancakes with coffee..anything u can request to yoga.dont shock if u didn't see a air-conditioning n fan..

Our stay at Abdi Homestay was exceptional. It is a real germ, with an amazing view on the rice field and waterfall.
The breakfast and the dinner are homemade, fresh, delicious.
The chalet is cosy, cute. We fell like home.
We would have appreciated a shower with hot water.

Scenic location. Very secluded. The view of the waterfall is breathtakingly beautiful.

We stayed at Abdi Homestay for 5 nights and had an amazing time here. Rooms are basic but very nice. Hot hower, nice balcony, beautiful location, great food. They also have pickup service from Padang Airport. We did several daytrips with guide Ricky. He's the best! ❤ Thank you so much for having us. Terima Kasih banyak.

I had a great stay at this homestay. This place gives great value for the money. The location is fantastic just in front of the waterfall. The room was nice and clean, the bed was very comfortable. As others have mentioned, hot water would have been a nice addition, but I could easily do without it.

The breakfast (included) and dinner (available at low cost) was delicious.

The family was lovely and helped me plan excursions in the area. They also helped me with transport to the bus station for my onwards journey to Bukitinggi.

I would not hesitate going back here for some more time of relaxation.

We had a great stay at Abdi Homestay! The location is beautiful below the waterfall, close to the valley entrance and far away from the main road. The family is very friendly. The breakfast is great. You can also get a simple but tasty dinner on request. The bungalows are very spacious, clean and bright, better than most bungalows we've been to in Indonesia. We stayed there for two days and did two different hikes. Hike information on the internet or from local people is difficult to come by. If you want to go up the cliffs or to the secret waterfall, taking a guide is recommendable. We can recommend Fikri as a knowledgeable guide and great singer/guitar player :)

Lovely place. Many roads for walk around. Green and quiet. Very helpful and friendly staff 👌 beautiful view for small waterfall. Rooms a bit old, but cozy.

For those of you who miss grandma..., miss the calm and cool natural atmosphere of the village, this is the house that must be visited.

Spending the night with the natural sounds of nature, the sound of splashing water and a lulling waterfall... brings back memories like sleeping at an old grandmother's house.

For those of you who are in any part of the world in this universe.. Go back to our homes, invite friends, family, children and grandchildren to experience Minangkabau nature in the Harau valley..., make memories here and then arrange another time to come back.

this biker has been a regular guest here over the past few years, and has been enjoying the cosy accommodation in a superb setting, with friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere... to make it perfect, let's not forget the delicious home cooked meals!
my advice to you: look beyond Bali, visit West Sumatra... and once you are here, make sure you spend at least 2 nights at Abdi Homestay!

If you are looking for a place to stay where you can be surrounded by spectacular natural scenery, this is definitely a good choice to have. Waterfall, Cliffs, rice fields, fish ponds, you won’t be bored by the amazing nature here. Without WiFi, air-con and luxurious facilities, this is a place for getting close to the nature and take some deep rest physically and mentally.

This is such a great place to stay and learn about local cultures. I went on a 1 day guided countryside walk with Rinal and it was really interesting to see how local people live and work. We even got to plant rice, try fresh cacao and swim in a beautiful waterfall. As our group were all vegetarian, the staff made us delicious vegetarian food each night for s very reasonable cost. A must do in Sumatra!

Very very basic room and of course no hot shower (if you like you can always take shower in waterfall which just behind), however this is true unique place where you can get the piece and quite , it will be unforgettable experience for discerning travelers in this lovely area. You can get lost here for a week, that's I'm done before.

Although we only syated for one night we really enjoyed ourselves at Abdi. Mainly due to the brilliant location. We had a great walk through the rice fields and even 'helped' harvesting the rice.
