The place which I spent best 3 years in my education life. Love the faculty members, ambience and facilities.

a great institute to study hospitality and tourism, theres something about the atmosphere and culture in this campus. the students are nice, theyre proper and well groomed. theres 3 school dept. on this campus, school of tourism, school of travel, and school hospitality, with total 13 major program.

Proud to be alumnae of such a great school.

If I may share some points...

1. THE NAME - THE BRAND - THE ALUMNAE
Tourism is a global market, hence the name should be globally recognized. So difficult to refer to my campus: SKP, APN, NHTI, NHI, BPLP, STP, STP NHI, STPB, BIT (Bandung Institute of Tourism), and not sure what other names will be introduced. This is confusing, especially such a pioneer in hospitality institution, the “aura” is diminishing. Learn from other institutions around the globe, Cornell, Blue Mountain, EHL, Glion, Les Roches, etc etc, they preserve their name with pride and carefully do any name changes with great attention. Name is associated with brand (no intention of lecturing anyone), and the brand is associated well with its alumnae. At times, i spoke with people about NHI, no one knows anymore... BPLP? Maybe, STPB, now there is STPBI? Ay ay ay ay... honestly it is messy 🙏🏽... our lovely “school” needs to revive its energy, its charisma, and its pride to be THE Tourism and Hospitality School in South East Asia at least. NHI (I prefer to use this name), needs to aim higher, to be a preferred school for those who regards Tourism/Hospotality as true profession and (or) entrepreunerial channel to its students.

2. REGIONAL COMPETITIVENESS
NHI should be a preferred school, knowledge and best practice magnet for all hospitality talents to both domestic and overseas (regional is sufficient at this stage) students. It should aim at least 20% students intake are foreigners. Why? . Cross culture environment is an extremely valuable live-learning for all students, where they (both Indonesians or foreign students) will have interractions which eventually be useful when they graduate and be competitive workforce who are not only skillful, but also have a more adaptable, adjustable, and multi-cultural sensitive. Having foreign students will also provide a different set of lecturer’ skill set in delivering the knowledge and experience sharing. The infrastructure may also be adjusted, and obviously, to have foreign students NHI needs to be attractive in its facility, quality and the “benefits” of being its graduates of BPLP? NHI? STP? APN? ... well needs to be defined.

I once tried to register my profile online (taleo platform) in a big brand International Chain with many many properties in Indonesia, when filling up my lovelu school (NHI) was not there, no BPLP, no STP, no STPB, no Bandung Institite of Tourism, so sad... other private schools were mentioned there.... perhaps that Hotel Chain is confused too, as to what name they should put there (?)...

Other private hotel school is catching up well. Competition is good, and as graduate of NHI, I dream of the school to be leading in the country or even in S.E.A. The school was first formed in 1959, so it should be 60 years of refinement.
