Raja Laut Dive Resort

We had a fabulous two weeks at Raja Laut. Diving was fantastic with an amazing guide, Massar, and great captain and assistant, Jeffry and Andre. The food was amazing (thanks, Jessy!) and we even got pizza made in the pizza oven. Amedeo and Olin are great hosts and very accommodating. Jessy even made an amazing chocolate cake for my husband’s birthday. The value for money is great at this simple but amazing resort.

Simply amazing - the best room we had so far in whole Sulawesi! Very clean, spacious bungalows (even with a safe), very tasty food & friendly hosts. Also I can recommend this part of the island to stay. We did a diving course with them & everything worked well. Thanks a lot!

My family had a great time at Raja Laut. The rooms were spacious with comfortable beds and good aircon and the grounds have a lovely view. Pak Bram, the Indonesian manager, was gentle and helpful and everyone was open and friendly.

The hotel is a few minutes walk into the local town which is great for a wander at the end of the day. The diving was beautiful with amazing visibility and walls full of action and life. There was a lovely atmosphere on the dive boat with a team full of laughter and fun. 3 of us completed our PADI Advanced course whilst there and we had clear and patient instruction to help us feel confident as we developed our skills.

Post covid, a little money is needed to be spent to upgrade some of the dive equipment (wetsuit boots, snorkels etc. have seen better days) but that will come...

We stayed at Raja Laut for 8 days, it was superb. The resort is amazing, beautiful place and very kind owner. Beautiful wood paneled bungalow with hammocks and overlooking the ocean and facing spectacular sunrise from our bungalow. Dive master and Guides are wonderful, 10/10 diving experience. They have good hospitality team too. They served a great variety of home made food everyday. On our last day, they served some homemade Italian wood fired-pizza fresh from their own wood fired-oven. The meals served 3 times daily and we had our meals together with owner and others like we're family. We will definitely come back. Thank you Raja Laut

Beautiful place with esthetic wooden bungalows and a dedicated staff. We stayed for 16 (!) days. It was the rainy season, for some days we were the only guests. Nonetheless we got pampered all around: It is her birthday coming up, could we have a cake at night but without milk? - Tadaa, next evening, here it is. Mention some hot soup would be nice on a rainy day? Same day you have it for lunch, together with the recipe and the next day a different soup comes up again because the weather still is "cold" with only 26°C air temperature.
And because we are interested in food, we were invited to the kitchen and shown how to prepare those traditional dishes we liked.
Amadeo, the owner is from Napoli. He runs a dedicated pizza oven. When they found out we liked Moka style coffee, they opened a pack of the true Caffe Napoletano for us. You can't buy that nowhere around in Sulawesi.
Amadeo is also a dedicated dive instructor. He gave us a special bouyancy course tailored to our needs, which improved our diving experience. In general, diving was made easy on a very personal level. Sometimes we were just one scuba diving guest but the other got total support for freediving as well. Indonesians like to laugh and the whole boat crew made us feel easy to join into their fun. Dive spots in Bunaken are mostly dramatic walls, the coral are impressive and intact, plenty of marine life! After some time you dont even turn your head for another turtle because there are so many. A downside was, that we sometimes faced loads of plastic trash, wood chunks and coconuts floating in stripes of garbage along with the current. Could occur in any spot, came and went.The resort itself reacted to it as it does not offer botteled water, but has dispensers and glasses wherever you need, but it is evident, that the problem is of a bigger scale.

Amadeo and his team have an amazing set up. 7 individual huts with en suite bathrooms provide privacy and beautiful sea views. Food is excellent and varied, loved the pizza oven evenings!
Diving is world class, have visited in high season and monsoon season and both times the visibility and marine life was amazing. Can’t wait to return

Absolutely amazing house reef chock full of turtles, healthy coral and tons of fish. Amadeo and his staff are the kindest people - a real family experience. Enjoyed shared meals and clean rooms now with AC. This is a very special dive resort.

Happy to have stayed at Raja Laut Dive Resort. Amedeo and his team were accommodating, and excellent with arrangements.

Dive sites were great with beautiful coral walls, divemaster Edo highlighted a few uncommon fishes (frog fish, crocodile fish) as well as many sea turtles.

Rooms were basic but sufficient, for hot water book the superior bungalow.

Great staff overall, good value.

This great place is run by Amedeo, an excellent italian diving instructor with 10 years experience on Bunaken and a lovely staff that makes you feel part of the family. Delicious food and nice clean accomodation made our stay in August 2022 really above our expectations.

Booked 6 nights here and have to say it was nothing short of outstanding right from the welcome through to our departure. We weren't there necessarily to dive/snorkel, just chilling, however we did for the last 3 days and wow what a great experience- best coral we've seen anywhere not that we are experts.
The owners Roberto and Amadeo were charm personified, friendly helpful and amusing, well they are Italian and Amadeo's wife Olin was a treasure. Meals 3 a day were bountiful great cooks, thanks ladies in the kitchen.
Rooms were spacious clean and tidy, internet worked a treat in our room !! Locals as well as resort staff were really pleasant, friendly and immensely helpful. Would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Raja Laut Resort- best of luck in your ventures Roberto and Amadea. Terima kasih

Excellent!!... Rooms are comfy with A/C, plenty hot water. Staff are super friendly & nice. Food is simple but yummy! Diving was great! Lovely place!

Trully beautifull Resort. Profesional diving instructors. Superb coral reefs.

The weather was also really good, even dought It was the end of January, so the experience was indeed unique. Highly recomended!

10/10 diving (can see 30+ turtles in a single dive), 10/10 food (also they were great with any allergies/preferences, and they even have a pizza oven), 10/10 overall service. If the rooms had aircon it would be a 4* resort.
Amadeo is an amazing instructor whether you're a beginner or master - highly recommend.

I had three day dives with the team. Super relaxing diveshop and have the sea view entirety to you. Plamena and their team made the dive trips really memorable and enjoyable.
Bunaken is so pretty!

Amazing diver resort. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms that are large and well appointed with large beds, ceiling and floor fans, safes desks and a patio with hammock to relax in.

The dive setup is phenomenal, they have everything you could need, you don't have to bring anything. And Nino and Plumina made the experience 10/10! Do as many or as few dives as you want per day, we did 2-5 a day depending on our mood and the dives. I did my first night dive and the bioluminescing plankton was awesome!

Encontramos el resort en Bunakken de casualidad, nada mas entrar no miramos ninguna opcion mas, disponen de todo sala de lectura y ocio, comedor exterior para poder relajarse e interactuar, Bingtang frias!!!.
El tema del buceo muy bien organizado con Amadeo que es el propietario y su mujer que son dos buenos anfitriones que te ayudaran en todo, Abraham que tiene una buenissima energia que les ayuda en todo, los guias super dispuestos a que disfrutes del buceo Aldo y Massar, las coci eras que te haran disfrutar.
De verdad un sitio de 10, en una isla encantadora.

Fantastico dive resort a Bunaken!

L'hotel è composto da 6-7 bungalow in legno, ben puliti e spaziosi e tutti con vista mare.
Il giardino della struttura è ben curato e l'ambiente silenzioso.
Il personale è molto cortese, disponibile e capisce molto bene l'inglese.

Cucina ottima, dopo alcune settimane di viaggio in Indonesia in cui mangiavamo sempre i soliti 2-3piatti (principalmente riso e pollo) siamo stati contenti di trovare piatti ogni giorno differenti e gustosi.

Se siete sub, il diving center è molto ben fornito: materiale in ottime condizioni, bellissimi spot in cui immergersi e divemaster molto attenti.

Se invece fate solo snorkeling nessun problema, potete comunque unirvi alla barca del diving durante la giornata, oppure semplicemente nuotare davanti all'hotel. A meno di 100metri dalla spiaggia c'è un bellissimo reef pieno di pesci coloratissimi e molte tartarughe.

Assolutamente consigliato!
