Wild River Cafe

During our stay in Bukit Lawang we visited this place three times and the food was amazing. We ordered Sambal with Tempe and Eggplant and the Fruit Platter, which both tasted phenomenal! The staff was super friendly and even provided us with a recipe.
Would love to have this place back home!

Love this quiet and unpretentious riverside eatery.
We tried quite a few other places and came back here three days running. Food is fantastic (their Indonesian dishes are best but the breakfast pancakes, chai tea and Sumatran coffee are good) well priced and the staff are gorgeous.
Watch the river flow by, monkeys running through the trees and the ebb and flow of village life.

Delicious food, a gorgeous location overlooking the river, and great prices - what more could you want? Oh yes, and no music, which I appreciated very much because it means you can listen to the sounds of the rushing river and the jungle. (It really baffles me why so many places in Bukit Lawang play loud music in the evenings, when surely most visitors here just want to hear the sounds of nature.) It's a small, friendly place run by a lovely family and I think everyone visiting Bukit Lawang should eat here! I think I had about 7 meals here during my stay and all were delicious - it would be hard to choose my favourite. Great selection of vegetarian dishes too.

Tasty and affordable, we ate here a few times during our stay. Passion fruit juice and tofu rendang is delicious! And super friendly staff, thank you 😊

Good food at cheap prices. Potato rendang was very good! Due to Idul Fitri holiday this was one of the few open places but happy we came! The lady also does laundry.

The place was really not open since low season and they had visitors from Medan but after a while it was ok and we could eat. Really good food and good value. The Rendang chicken was Great! Fruit juices also.

We spent three nights in Bukit Lawang and we came back every time for dinner. Whatever we tried was so tasty! All the personal is very nice and you can enjoy the meals sitting right next to the river. If we stood longer, we would have come back again and again. 👌

One of the greatest food experience I had in Indonesia! Amesome people, beautiful view from the table and cheap price. The dish "Telur sambal" is incredible.

Le service y est plus rapide que dans les autres restaurants. Les plats sont au niveau de la concurrence avec des portions généreuses.Les prix y sont moins élevés. Le cadre y est superbe et l'accueil chaleureux. Je recommande.

La comida es increíblemente buena!
Fuimos a comer allí cada dia mientras estuvimos en Bukit Lawang. Recomiendo el curry de calabaza y el rendang de tempeh, fueron deliciosos. Además la familia que lleva el negocio es muy amable. 100% recomendado

Restaurant avec jolie vue sur la riviere et la jungle de l autre coté de la rive, plats simples mais excellents et copieux. Préparés minute (si vous commandez differents plats, cela peut prendre un peu de temps). La patronne est très sympa, et pour finir addition tres raisonnable, pour moi le meilleur rapport Qualité / prix que nous ayons trouvé ! Cerise sur le gateau, tout en mangeant nous avons vu un orang outan grimper sur un arbre de l autre côté de la riviere. TOP luxe !
