Villa Monte Istra

I recently had the opportunity to work as a wedding photographer at Monte Istra in Makovci, and I can't help but share my excitement for this extraordinary location. Monte Istra's unique charm comes from its breathtaking panoramic views of the rolling hills and lush vineyards, which create a stunning backdrop for wedding photos.

The venue offers a harmonious blend of rustic and modern architecture, featuring an elegant outdoor ceremony area surrounded by nature, as well as a stylish indoor space with large windows that flood the room with natural light. The picturesque surroundings of Monte Istra provide endless possibilities for capturing intimate and candid moments between couples.

I am truly grateful to have had the chance to photograph unforgettable memories at Monte Istra in Makovci, and I wholeheartedly recommend this versatile and scenic venue to couples looking for an idyllic setting to bring their wedding photos to life. I eagerly anticipate returning to this beautiful location for future wedding shoots.

This summer, we had the most wonderful holiday here with a group of 10 friends. When we arrived we could not believe how beautiful these houses are and were stunned by the amazing view. It was absolutely quiet, you could watch the sun setting over the ocean every evening and on very clear days you could even see the coast of Italy. On top, there is a huge garden with all kinds of vegetables and fruit growing there and we were allowed to harvest and use the ingredients. The taste of course was a lot better than from the ingredients you could buy in the supermarket! Besides the great area & the infinity pool, we also felt very comfortable in all of the three houses belonging to the property. They were not only very clean but were very well equipped. The kitchen had probably more stuff than we had at home and we did not miss a single thing during our vacation.
The area around the house was also very nice. There is a lot you can do such as wine tasting, bike tours (some are at the house to use), go to the ocean (not very far), visit Novigrad and so on…
Lastly I have to talk about the owner Nino. He was so friendly and helpful all the time!! The first day he brought us house made wine, delicious self-made olive oil and other little specialties such as very very very spicy hot sauce (so delicious). Whenever we needed him and had a question, he wrote back within minutes and shared recommendations, stories about Croatia or even called different restaurants to make a reservation. On our last day, we met Nino in a small Agriturismo that he recommended and where he knew the owner. We sat together, had delicious food, one or the other schnapps and listened to Ninos stories. He even invited us for some wine and was overall great company!
All in all, we would always come back and can only highly recommend this place.

I live not far away, and I really like the view, I have not been to the villa, but the nature around is beautiful,👍

Mjesto me potpuno iznenadilo, nakon Grožnjana na koji ne treba trošiti riječi, ovo mjesto je pravi dragulj, pogled puca a slovenske i talijanske Alpe, preko zapadne obale Istre prema jugu, Motovun, Grožnjan... Prekrasno! Isto se pak ne može reći za cestu koja vodi do ovdje, pogotovo ako imate malo niži auto. Makadam je na, par mjesta prilično grub i strm, pa treba pripaziti. Za neki crossover, enduro, mtb ili pješačenje, odlično

Lepo, kolesarske poti za spust in Parenzana. V bližini, nižje, stence za plezanje.
