Konoba Carevi Dvori

This is a beautiful restaurant with excellent food atop a local mountain with a stunning view of the sunset over the water.

A group of friends and I came here after a nearby rafting trip. The building and decor honored the local architecture of a mixture of greenery and stone buildings. There was just enough lighting but not too much to ruin the ambience. We had a table with a direct view of the water.

The food was excellent, especially the squid and sea bass. Everything, including this shrimp and vegetables and a solid were fresh. They did not try to over complicate the food, over sauce it, or put too much salt in it. If like me, you're from the United States you might yearn for a little more salt, but I thought it was delicious.

Our server Ivana (spelling) was fantastic. She was responsive, kind and had a nice sense of humor.

If you come here, be sure to go to where they prepare the under the bell meats. It's a short walk up to steps and a great way to see to cook in action. I've included photos.

THE BEST SEAFOOD I’ve had in Europe! I went for the seafood plate for two people. It was served with a fresh salad, which I greatly appreciated. Scampi, prawn, cuttlefish, and tuna steak were all so fresh and expertly prepared. Our server Martina was kind and warm. She even helped us getting a cab to Split.

It has a dreamy, romantic setting. Perfect summer holiday dinner. I’ll have this place saved forever on my Google Map and come back, whenever we come to this area for vacation!

Amazing food ..we ate the fish plate for 2 and in total spent 62€. The food and services were amazing. They serve a salad as a side dish as well which reminds you of home.

Wow what a hidden gem. The food, the service, the location, the environment are 5 stars for me. If you want some good local food, this is it. No frills simple menu but exquisite. I wish I could try the “by the bell” but that requires 1 day reservation alas and we’re leaving tomorrow. Anyways, try this restaurant, you will love it.

Wonderful place to enjoy dinner and sunset. The food is amazing, everything is cooked and seasoned perfectly. The staff is super friendly and the view is of course great to accompany the dinner. Recommend to arrive a bit earlier and/or book a table. The road uphill is narrow an you must drive carefully, but it is totally worth it. Best restaurant experience in this area.

The prices are lower than in the seaside restaurants, the portions are huge and every main dish comes with a salad (included in the price). Also recommend the appetizers plates.

Restaurant placed in old town library building. Prepare yourself for some extreme climbing by car if you want to get there, but it’s totally worth. The best view I’ve ever had in restaurant. Tables under trees and food was also very good and fresh. my wife tried octopus and I took steak. Service was just perfect, we were treated like in very best Italian family restaurants.
Important - you can pay only in cash there. Be prepared, because it’s totally worth to leave there some cash.
And if you (or your kid) like cats - you will love this place.

Wow wow wow. Spectacular views, incredible food and great service. The best meal we’ve had in Croatia (steak was amazing, as was the tuna). I will recommend this place to any friends visiting Split from now on. If you want romantic/rustic but with friendly family vibe this is the place. Also excellent prices!

This is our favourite Konoba while staying near Split.
Getting there is a hustle (especially when you want to drink and trying to order Uber). But once you'll get there it's all worth it.
The view, service and food, all delivers.
What we do is get comfortable shoes, try to get an Uber and have a hefty walk down the hill after (get some reflective marks on you) ;)
Additional points for cats - we're animal (and cat) ppl and there are some chill out cats hanging out;)

Really good food that is delivered really fast. There is a little curvy road from Podstrana but totally worth it!

Wow, great view, great food and a very special place for dinner. Don’t expect michelin star food, but just great fresh bbq fish and meats. Booked via google message, very easy. The fish plate for two highly recommended and the cheesecake for dessert was amazing. Go up for an unforgettable sunset in an amazing location. Even the journey up and down the mountain makes for an experience!

Absolutely delightful place away from crowds and noise. Superb food with a beautiful views. We had a tuna salad and it was the best piece of grilled tuna I ever had.

The best restaurant in the area. The only place we had fresh fish and seafood. Better than all of the restaurants near the sea. The owner and crew were very friendly and nice and the location is absolutely beautiful. Definitely worth a visit!
