Beautiful! No other words. View of the meander of the Kupa river below city is just penomenal, and the city it self is a gem in itself.

Beautiful place, nice green park around, great for walking. The castle has been reconstructed recently and looks stunning! Amazing view from the castle walls!

Lovely place! Visited in winter months with snow, the castle and the surroundings looked like a fairy tale 😁

It's very cool, definitely drop by if you are passing near Ozalj.
You can see everything but the museum for free and there is a self service souvenir magnet machine.
The views from the outer castle walls are also amazing so even if you are not into castles it's worth visiting just for the views.
Everything that you can see on the attached photos can be seen for free.
Overall very recommended.

Very nice place to spend a free day at. Relatively cheap entrance fee to the museum. Outside it's for free. Amusing views.

On your way to or through Ozalj, take 45-60 minutes and visit Castle Ozalj. Has a breathtaking view on the Kupa river, good part of the Castle has been renovated including the small museum on the 2nd floor. We had a very nice time learning more about Slava Raskaj, Zrinski and Frankopani. Big thanks to Braca Hrvatskog Zmaja for keeping a part of proud Croatian history alive, so that young ones have possibility to learn about it, and know who their forefathers were.

Lovely old town where some of the most important Croatian noble families lived. You can go around the city where you can see beautiful views of river Kupa and surrounding landscape. There is also a museum in a building that has been restored. All in all it is worth a visit.

Ozalj castle sits on a cliff above Kupa river. It's foundations go back into the 6th century and Roman era. It has been built and upgraded over the centuries, being home to various Croatian and foreign noble families.. Today it contains elements of medieval, Gothic and romanesque architecture and is recognized as Croatian cultural heritage site. It is worth visiting for the spectacular, attractive view of Kupa river, Sveta Gera peak, view of the hydro-plant (3rd ever built in the World) and of course, a small regional museum inside the main building. One of the curiosities is a railway making it's way through the rock on which castle buildings reside. I advise taking a boat to Kupa and row up/downstream just beneath the castle enjoying the scenery. The whole castle area is especially beautiful at sunset. There is a public beach on the opposite river bank, nearby to the castle. Visitors won't regret...

Nice old castle. You can feel how it was standing there and watch Turkish army beneath try to climb up and conquer you :-)

Beautiful place to visit. You can see it from inside and walk around it. One part is renovated and used as public school!

This castle is a museum with artifacts dating back to the Stone Age found at or near the site. The castle itself has a lot of historical significance.
