Konoba Porat

I was in Porat few years ago when I did not write review, having fresh big grilled scampi, like I had yesterday on 20 December 2023.
Both times freshly catched big grilled scampi were delicious.
I took 500 ml wine Malvasia and green salad, both were good.
Place is nice and clean, staff friendly and proffesional.
Place, terrace is dog friendly so my 5 kgs Italian Greyhound was allowed inside.
Parking is near and free.
Remember, scampi MUST BE FRESH AND NOT FROZEN. If scampi are from frozen they are good only for garbage.
Does not matter if scampy catch is from today or yesterday, but they must not be frozen.
Luckilly, Porat is in Plomin Harbour, home to many fishing boats just few meters from restaurant and catch from sea is always fresh.
Scampi are not cheap, 1 kg is 79 €, but fresh big scampi deserve such price.
500 grams big fresh scampi, 500 ml wine Malvasia green salad and bread I paid 50 €, and was offered free aperitiv biska what was nice as well.
Only way for improvement is bread what are coming from market, having ugly market taste.

Great kitchen, for the lovers of the seafood, the best I have in Istri. I would definitely recommend. And at the end of the dessert you will not let out. Just eating with the heart, it is worth to come to the meal. My wife, stated that we would lick the plates of the sauce to Panacota and rest fruits.

Went out for lunch and by chance we found this place open in late February 2022 and days later we returned for an evening dinner, both times the food, service and other diners were really great. The restaurant is very comfortable and appealing. Their cooking of quality ingredients makes this food memorable. The prices are affordable enough to dine casually.

Very friendly staff, delicious food. Not so frequented but I like that. Definitely worth a try. The pasta with shrimp and zucchini that I recommend much.

Fabulous food! We had the meat plate which came with grilled vegetables and fries. They knew enough English to take our order. Clean bathrooms and very tasty.

It is a small fishing village in the small bay. Daily fresh foods. The restaurant have a really good atmosphere. The foods and the wines are delicious and the price is good compare with the quality and size. I recommend this place to everybody who is visiting the east side of Istria. The service was perfect and thanks for all to the staff.
