B&Bike al Merlo Olivo

Wonderfull accomodation on the countryside where you will find peace of mind and beautiful nature. Franz and Antonella are very friendly hosts. The dinner I had one night was very good. Also rented a bike here and Franz is very helpfull for adjusting your bike and giving some tips for a trip round there. Had a great week!

Location is awesome, right in the middle of Istrian Inland. You can reach the sea in 20 minutes, but the place is so great you loose yourself enjoying what you have around.
The place is a restored old farmhouse built in stones. It's been renovated with taste, maintaining the old country style flair, with a modern touch (and commodities. ).
Al Merlo Olivo is perfect all year round if you feel sporty, no matter if it's jogging, mountain biking or offroading with dirt bikes or 4x4s: Franz got you covered.
But it's also great if you feel like relaxing in the beatiful garden, filled with all kind of flowers and herbs.
Not to mention the great homemade dinners or breakfasts cooked by Antonela herself.
Definitely, a great stay.

On a recent business trip to Istria, I book a single room at Merlo Olivo. As it states in several reviews the place is a bit off track and you need either a car or bike when you stay their, this I can confirm, if you have that, Merlo Olivo is really a great place to stay, the building is a completely renovated old stone house in a small village. The rooms are really great, extremely clean. The owner and his wife prepares a nice breakfast with fresh fruits, bread etc in the morning and if you want you can also pre-book dinner, which is really great traditional Istrian food, the landlady is a great cook and make homemade Istrian specialties, while the landlord is in charge of the barbecue.

I would personally not hesitate staying at Merlo Olivo another time, prices are fair ambient great, and you for sure get value for the money.

We only rented bikes here but it was perfect, Franz was very friendly and helpful. We hope we can return here some day, just took a look on the guesthouse but seemed very nice. Location is also 5*, Groznjan itself and Buje-Groznjan road is quite close, and Parenzana route as well.

The location is really warm and cozy, surrounded by the Croatian hills and woods. The owners have been very helpful and Antonella is an amazing chef, cooking authentic Croatian food! We will definitely come back!

Haben wunderschöne Tage im Merlo Olivo verbracht! Wer Ruhe und Erholung sucht,ist dort genau richtig! Zimmer und Frühstück hervorragend. Und die Gastgeber sind einfach spitze. Der Shuttleservice von Franz ist sehr zu empfehlen! Abenteuer und tolle Musik 🎶 wurde uns bei der Jeepfahrt geboten!:-) Ein herzliches Dankeschön. Heinz/Kristin und Franz/Annamaria

Als Gruppe von 8 Radfahrern haben eine <Übernachtung genossen.
Nicht nur das Frühstück war super gut, wir wurden auch bei unserer Ankunft hervorragend bekocht

Bella struttura immersa nella natura. Molto gentili ed accoglienti i proprietari. Ottima la cena. Siamo stati accolti dopo una lunga giornata in mtb. Abbiamo viaggiato con una bambina di 9 anni.

Ein wunderbarer Ort zum entspannen und gut Essen. Die Frau von Franz Antonella ist eine hervorragende Köchin und liefert richtig authentisches Essen Istriens. Nebenbei ist Franz ein guter Guide für die Erkundung der Gegend. Ganz in der nähe ist das Trüffeldorf

Una vera oasi di fresco e tranquillità in un paesaggio agreste che potrebbe essere Toscana. Casolare in pietra con stanze molto fresche in questa torrida estate. Colazione eccellente e ospiti molto cortesi. Posizione un po' fuori mano, ma se prenotata prima ti preparano la cena

Abbiamo trascorso due notti in questo bellissimo B&B. Location molto bella e perfetta per visitare la regione. Un applauso speciale per la gentilezza dei proprietari che si sono fatti carico di spedirci vestiti dimenticati in camera...! Decisamente raccomandato!

La posizione,la struttura,l'accoglienza dello staff e la sua disponibilità fanno del Merlo Olivo un luogo ideale per il relax ma anche per chi ama il turismo attivo,
dalle escursioni off-road alle pedalate per la Parenzana...senza tralasciare i
sapori eno-gastronomici rimasti intatti nel corso dei secoli fino ad oggi.
Istria tutta da scoprire... Grazie a tutti!

È a 2km dalla Parenzana ma ne vale la pena. Bella stanza, forse il materasso leggermente duro (ma ho dormito come un ghiro lo stesso). Proprietari cortesi e molto disponibili.

Tolles Steinhaus, extrem nette Gastgeber, schöne Lage, sehr leckeres Frühstück, Besitzerin kocht absolut hervorragend. Danke Franz für die netten Gespräche :)

Tipica casa in pietra dell'entroterra istriano molto curata nei fiori e nei dettagli. Buona ospitalità.

Eine tolle Entdeckung! Wir haben die Möglichkeit für ein Abendessen gern genutzt und wurden ganz wunderbar "bekocht"!
