Really friendly road side dinner. Great sea food nosh at great prices. They also do smashing breakfast and piping hot coffee! Recommended 👍🏻

Great food, huge portions, low prices, and by far the best pizza in the area. Fully recommend. My fiance and I dined there almost every day during our vacation in Cavtat. My favorites were the pizza, BTW cake, and punjena pljeskavica. You have to try when you're in the area!

Great fast casual restaurant near the place we stayed in Cavtat. We liked it so much, we ordered takeaways all three nights we were there. We mostly ordered grilled seafood and sausages and all were very good and reasonable priced.The manager, maybe the owner, was very nice too.

Excellent food and service. The only reason to take away a star in the atmosphere is the road right next to the place. Otherwise excellent.

Delicious food! Don't be fooled be the look. It's not yet another restaurant! They have very good kitchen, far better than any other restaurant at the bay or in the city center. It's amazing that in the same place you can order regular food like pizza or burger, while also be able to order first class sea food like shrimps, swordfish or local food. Food goes best with local done wine!

Very reasonable and delicious food. We had the calamari fried which was incredible. So tender and crispy! The cevapi was amazing too. The service is really quick and great for a quick dinner or late dinner. The staff are friendly

Just spent a wonderful week in Cavtat and it would not have been the same without By the Way cafe. It’s casual appearance and atmosphere might lead you to believe otherwise, but we enjoyed many a wonderful meal here. The pizza is especially good! Apart from the yummy food, what makes this place really special is the staff. The Chefs, Jimmy and all the servers are so friendly and work very hard to keep the many locals and tourists happy, and they do an excellent job.

Amazing food, with a very reasonable price compared to other places. It was so worth it I went there twice during my stay near Dubrovnik. 100% recommend it! Also service is amazing.

A totally unexpected and pleasant surprise. Cavtat is known for its beautiful promenade filled with restaurants. But up the hill is By The Way, an unassuming little spot near Cavtat's many boutique hotels.

Quite abnormal for me these days is to attend a restaurant without checking a few reviews first. But after the climb up the hill we found ourselves a bit warm and desiring refreshment.

We stopped in for dinner and it was very good. We ordered modestly, just a salad and a hamburger, expecting just a basic light meal. Now I regret not ordering more. The chicken salad was not a chicken breast over a bed of greens but sliced strips of thin breast in a bowl with cucumbers, melon, bell peppers, onion, and carrot, all in a lightly sweet dressing. Unlike any chicken salad I've had before and very tasty. The burger was different to and also very good. It features a good sized patty that's more like a thin steak than a slab of ground beef. It went great with a glass of the local beer.

The panna cotta was a nice finish to the meal.

Very nice servers, fair prices, and a decent view from several of the seats rounded out the experience. If I'd discovered it sooner I'd have made a point to dine here more. Dare I say it was more satisfying than the more heralded places on the bay?

You can while away a couple of hours watching the traffic ebb and flow. Gasp as whole families compete for max number of pillion passengers on one moped. Ponder what is going on in someones head as they carry shopping and a new born (in one arm), whilst riding atop of an electric unicycle.. but still seeing no fatal accidents.. You’ll quickly notice the fine view over the old town framed by the Adriatic and beyond to a castle used in many an episode of the Game of Thrones.
The specials are where this restaurant excels - otherwise it’s a nice pint with the usual (but well made) offings. It’s about half the price of the swanky marina equivalents & those are at the bottom of the hill of a thousand steps. The amenities are well kept - even compared to the water front bars which are often cramped and dirty affairs by comparison. I don’t know why hair gel was on offer by the mirror - but it all seemed to make sense overall.. by the way :)

A nicely situated restaurant on the hill just 5 mins away from the busier seafront area with a good view of the bay and with a nice mix of both locals and tourists.
Myself and my family stopped off here on our way to our accommodation after arriving in Cavtat. We planned on staying for just a quick meal, but after a heavy rain storm blew in we stayed for a couple of hours and a few courses!
Everything we ordered was very good, including the rump steak, calamari, salad and chocolate cake. Portions were generous and very fairly priced. Above all though was the excellent service from the owners/staff, very welcoming and friendly, and making sure all of their guests were adequately sheltered from the storm. We returned the following morning for breakfast which again was very good, and would have no doubt visited again had our short stay in Cavtat been longer.

This was our last meal at the end of a roadtrip and it did not disappoint.
The service was great, staff more than welcome to answer question from a fussy eater.
I had a local dish which I really enjoyed and the dessert was great.
Also I was very excited to get a mini bottle of prosecco.

Our waiter and owner of the restaurant was very nice and told us about the local grappa which is enriched with herbs and especially rosemary.. delicious. The food was excellent too, good meat dishes and good Croatian beer. Perfect place for a first evening after one's arrival to Dubrovnik.

GREAT FOOD AND GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE FAIRLY PRICED BETTER THAN ANY OF THE OVERPRICED PLACES ON THE MARINA MUST VIST !!
