Samostan sv. Pavao

I swam over to the island like a lot of the locals - a sign on arrival said the distance was 80 metres but it seemed more like 50 to me - over shallow sea where boats are not allowed to enter.

I only saw the monastery from afar as a sign makes it quite clear you can't visit in swimwear.

One of the most beautiful spots I have visited in Croatia. It is only accessible by boat or swimming through the bay. The island is covered with pine trees and has that lovely pine odour. The monastery cannot be visited by those wearing swimsuits so I'd recommend you to take your regular clothes too. Between the islands the water is pretty shallow so it's possible to walk there in low tide without getting your hair wet.

The best thing to do in Preko, Ugljan is this little island Galevac (Skoljic) with the monastery on it. It's only 85 meters away from the main island, and you can swim to it in a few minutes. The other way to it is to use the boat the old man is peddling on. It costs 10kn per person (return ticket). If you would like to visit the monastery, you should probably use the boat because of the regulations of clothes.

The sea around it is beautiful, there's a lot of pines to enjoy the shades and there's history on the island that's interesting to listen to.

There's a really old italian graveyard on it too, it looks really historical.

A beautiful island and well kept monastery. Accessible via water taxi by an older gentleman, who is very happy to take you there and back for 10 KN per person. Well worth a visit for the experience of the water taxi and a pleasant walk around the island and monastery gardens and grounds. Do check for actual monastery opening times if you want to get inside and talk to the four resident monks.

Very authentic and charming place on Ugljan. There is a ferry and the children can dive to the ferry to old coins that threw the passengers of the ferry into the water. Highly recommended!

Beautiful island

Het klooster zelf was gesloten, maar de natuur op het eiland is prachtig. Ook erg mooi is de miniatuur van de kerk, tot in detail uitgevoerd. Helaas is de maker na een mislukte harttransplantatie overleden wist de schipper van de roeiboot pont ons te vertellen. Deze schipper was ooit pompbediende op de grootste olie tankers ter wereld en hij heeft alle havens op aarde gezien. Op zijn oude dag zet hij toeristen over van en naar dit kloostereiland.

Prekrasni samostan na malom otočiću pored Ugljana. Pristup je sa malom barkom koja stalno vozi. U sklopu samostana postoji crkva i spomen zbirka na staru tiskaru.

Do klaštora nieje vstup povolený v plavkách, treba mať minimálne tričko.

Svakako posjetiti. Mirno mjesto sa dugom povijesti. Prijevoz je osiguran drvenom barkom, 7 kn po osobi. Mogućeje posjetiti crkvicu iz 15. Stoljeća, vidjeti muzej/zbirku i zaviriti u samostan.
