Beware of snakes and grasshoppers. Otherwise amazing megalith structures. Easy to acess from Benkovac if you follow roadsigns.

Beware of wasps!!!!!
Beautiful location but stay away from the cemetery, there are wasps nesting IN the lock of the gate and they will attack upon opening. Kid got stung five times.

Perfect evidence of megalithic pre-antic construction. There are few different styles. Roman style small stones with mortar and illyrian style with bigger stones with no mortar (drywall) which belongs to pre-roman period. There is also illyrian style B which is older and which belongs to time of Troy and maybe older. It is most complicated and there are blocks to five tones.

There is so much to investigate about when Asseria was originally constructed. But one thing is sure. Older parts are much complicated and sophisticated than newer.
That is opposite to theory of linear history which tells us that old man was primitive and through time we become more sophisticated. The truth is that history is more cyclic than linear. There are rises and falls.
We can also see that someone probably roman culture put some mortar in oldest parts in order to reconstruct it. Best example is roman doors. There we have roman style on reconstructed original style.

And for original style best example is south side of city which is at least changed through history. The original style where stones have from 0.5 tones to 5 tones and there is no mortar and also some of them have five-six and more corners is very similar to megalithic objects around the globe. Those civilisations: a) they had same teacher b) they were globally connected because their style is so sophisticated and similar to each other and it is stupid to find some magical explanations.
But we must notice that their technology was different than our today.
It was bizarre for our views and that because they did not separate theology and technology.
But at the end it was real and practical and we can see evidence today thousands and thousands years after. (For example look at the pyramids in Visoko and scientific conferences about them)
The city for which today we have just roman name for it -Asseria is lined with other similar cities in Dalmatia.
Asseria, Varvaria, Daorson, Medeon are on one line. Everyone can check it on Google earth. That line is called Holy Angle of Illyria because whole Dalmatian coast with islands follows that angle of cca 33 degrees south from east. We can also notice that line when we start our line in Google earth in Asseria and all way down to Medeon(Montenegro).
Those cities are on that line with minor deviation. That line is crucial because this is line of sunrise on Christmas (actually winter solstice). That is lowest point of sunrise but also point when Sun changes its path from falling to rising. From that point day becomes longer and night shorter. In our language Christmas is called Bozic which literally means little God. New born God as new born Sun which is born on solstice and it is weak like baby child and it can not revive nature and bring life on earth yet but we can see as days follows that it becomes stronger and stronger.

Unbelievably thick and strong walls, it is fantastic that they've been there since the 4th century BC.

Massive megalithic stones, some weight more than 5 ton. Much Older than Roman empire.

Niesamowite mury obronne dawnego miasta. Dojazd pod samo stanowisko. Imponujący rozmiar budowli i stan zachowania.

Doporučuji...tu odkrytou část vychutnat a zamyslet se...

TRAJANOV SLAVOLUK

Nekoliko podataka o Asseriji:

• liburnosko-rimska utvrda (gradina)
• središte južnoliburnskog prostora – između današnjih Ravnih Kotara i Bukovice, blizu Benkovca
• 94 m visoko uzvišenje
• u antici municipalno središte (procvat u 1. i 2. st.)
o Zapadni ulaz u grad: 20 m dug bedem, liburnski grobovi, kasnoantički fortifikacijski zid, žrtvenik s prikazom vučice, Romula i Rema
o u čast caru Trajanu ugrađena su velebna gradska vrata: Trajanova vrata (2. st.) tzv. „Trajanov slavoluk“
o Sjeverozapadni bedem (kasnoantički) s kulom, nalazi cipusa (liburnski nadgrobni spomenik nad spaljenim pokojnikom)
o Sjeveroistočni bedem: ranokršćansko groblje (rimsko groblje nešto dalje od Asserije), 2 faze ukopa: skeletni ukopi i ukopi u zidanim grobovima (nalaz: 2 kamene stele, nakit, keramika)
• Na mjestu velikih bedema nađeni pokopani Liburni (u zgrčenom položaju)
• forum na mjestu današnjeg groblja, u 15. st. na ruševinama foruma nastaje crkva Sv. Duha (kasnije doživljava preinake)

Upoznajte :)!
