Gea Viva - eco island retreat

Sleeping in our hammocks amidst the olive trees was an extraordinary experience. Being surrounded by a variety of animals - chickens, a cat, two dogs, and most notably, a donkey - added an element of enchantment. Sabine, the host, was extremely kind and offered helpful suggestions, even going the extra mile to pick us up from the bus station in Milna.

We found tranquility in this beautiful, serene place. The location is just a 15-minute walk from Milna, with a route that weaves past picturesque olive groves. The kitchen is incredibly well-equipped, making cooking an absolute pleasure.

This place provides an opportunity to reconnect with nature. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to join one of Sabine's yoga classes, but we have no doubt they would have been excellent.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a serene getaway!

Gea Viva - eco Retreat on the island of Brac was an absolutely peaceful and magnificent experience. The simplicity of the retreat's design and surroundings added to its charm. Sabine, the owner, was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the stay feel like home.The yoga classes offered at the retreat were a perfect way to connect with the serene environment and find inner peace. Surrounded by beautiful olive trees and the presence of friendly animals, it truly felt like a slice of paradise. I left GeoViva Retreat feeling rejuvenated and grateful for the tranquility it provided. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a serene and nature-infused getaway.

What a magical place! Beautiful landscape, beautiful gardens, well kept olive trees and the structures blend in well. Sabine created a permaculture paradise and is a great example of how to live in harmony with Nature!

If you're looking to be pampered in some luxurious spa by a swimming pool, this is not your retreat. But if you want to get off the grid and reconnect with yourself and nature, I don't think you'll find a better one. The accommodations were spartan, just as advertised, which added to the "off the grid" feel that I was looking for. But just because it was spartan did not mean comfort was sacrificed. The canvas tents were spacious with a table, chair, and mosquito netted cot. The kitchen was interesting architecturally and efficient and practical for eating and cooking. And the sun-warmed water for showers worked great. The yoga dome was an ideal place for yoga in the morning and the stone circle auditorium was the perfect environment for meditation. There was also a hammock hut that I took advantage of many times for afternoon naps. The walks to beaches and evening picnic in the mountains rounded off an exceptional week of mindfulness.

Gea Viva is a good experience for those wanting to get a closer connection to the earth. My highlight, the personal sitting meditation at the stone circle at sun set. Reminds me how important it is to have spaces where you can deepen your practice.

I only stayed one night but wish I could’ve stayed longer! The camping was in a small olive grove and the toilets and showers are nice for a sustainable and off-grid site. Owner and volunteers are friendly. Rooster wake up call in the morning 🐓. Close to Milna by bicycle. Loved it!

Beautiful experience in Gea Viva 🩷 Host Sabine is so warm person..nice good energy

I was lucky enough to spend over one month staying and working at Gea Viva. The proprietor, Sabine, was one of the most warming and welcoming hosts I have ever encountered. From the very first day I arrived, I felt like family, between her lovely friends who would often visit and the animals that live the good life at Gea Viva. The passion that Sabine had for Gea Viva was unparalleled, truth be told if my responsibilities did not call me home I would have stayed much longer.
If you have the opportunity to stay at Gea Viva you will find the same experience. You will have the opportunity to join Sabine for meditation in the morning and afternoon, yoga in the evening as well as trips to some of the local favorites on the island. I can't recommend a visit to Gea Viva enough!

My friend Alberte and I stayed at Gea Viva in the summer 2018 for about a week. The place was calm and beautiful, with a beautiful outside stone kitchen and a yoga dome. We loved living with Sabine's dog Pia and the donkey Babu. Sabine was a great host and her passion for sustainability was incredible. Everytime we used water in the kitchen, the excess water was used to water the olive plantation and her garden with vegetables. It felt great to live sustainably. However, living there during the summer was extremely hot for two scandinavian girls like us.

Stayed for a wonderful week at the end of August. Arrived to an open-hearted welcome from Sabine and thoroughly enjoyed a retreat amidst the quiet, peaceful and relaxing atmosphere of the olive grove. Loved the shared experience of cooking organic veggie meals together, meeting new people and sharing experiences while making the most of taking time for solitude. Of course there's the beautiful harbour, restaurants and bars 20 minures walk away and the aqua blue Adriatic Sea for swimming. Thank you Sabine for creating such a wonderful haven.

My mum was born in Milna and I visit Milna since I was a child. And that means reeeaaly reeaaly long!! I always liked it and felt special connection to its nice bay with many sailing boats, its whitestone houses and its beautiful chirch. But Milna became even more precious to me since Gea Viva is there!

Gea viva is a great place in Milna, Brač! The owner, Sabine, is enthusiastic and positive person who lives in full gratitude for Life and Earth. She and her friends are real genuine onest people who spread good vibes arround. Gea viva is also a nice piece of sustainable arhitecture! Its openair kitchen is simply adorable!!!

Great eco friendly experience, the yoga instructor is the best on the island. Great olive products

Gea Viva is an amazing place, carefully conceived and lovingly created. I enjoyed a remarkable, magical experience here when taking part in a gathering. Sabine, the host, is very dedicated to honouring the land and the precious beauty of this part of Brač, and offers very thoughtful and inspiring retreats, and exceptional hospitality. I hope that I may have an opportunity to return before long.

Excellent place to relax and get contact with pure nature. Beautiful olive trees, new orchard, permaculture principles applied. Typical island nature in lush on the property. Good camping, vicinity of the beach. The owner Sabine Engelhard full of enegy and ecellent hosit in the camp. Yoga classes going on since Sabine is a trained teacher. So, nature and spirituality connected.
Lot of workshops with topics of Permaculture, building stone walls to preserve the old knowledge, healing the Earth with lithopuncture and sharing that knowledge in workshops. Good food, beautiful view, lot of sun.

It is a wonderful place with strong heart energy. The geopunctur in the shape of an auditorium provides us with the quality that life is a dance, a performance, a play around all possibilities, our creativity, our dreams , with light and shadow, with our vital forces called dragon power. It reminds us that we are all cocreative actors/actresses on the stage of life.
The place is well guarded by the friendly and engaged owner of the landscape, with all the needed infrastructure like kitchen, tends, shower, stonehut,...and makes the contact with animals, the wonderful nature, the nearby sea, extraordinary sunsets.. easy. Many events, be it meditation times, seasonal feasts druming feasts, rituals permaculture corses, or others give interesting inputs for everybody. A dragon made of mosaics attracts us as well as the stone setting, the plants in the biological garden, the olive trees or the environmental behaviour , the vegetarian food or the possibility of relaxing, vacations or meditation... This place is like a jewelry in the middle of a very stony island in croatia and attraction for many different people coming peacefully together here to celebrate the joy of life and in the same time giving the Earth our thanks for this unit of human and other beings, culture and nature...A place to come again and again and again and never to forget....

Fabulous days, very nice host, we especially appreciated the common outdoor kitchen and enjoyed the „coming down to earth“.

Wir waren dort für 2 Nächte, ein wirklich ganz besonderer Ort. Großes Gelände mitten in der Natur. Es gibt dort 1 Hütte oder ein Zelt welche man mieten kann. Wir waren mit unserem Camper da und nur ein anderer Camper war noch auf der anderen Seite des Geländes. Von Sabine wurden wir herzlich Empfangen und über das nachhaltige Campleben ganz interessant informiert. Wir haben dort die Zeit mit ihren Tieren ( 2 liebe Hunde, 2 Hähne, 5 Hehnen, 36 Küken und 1 Esel ) sehr genossen. Die Kinder haben außerdem die tolle Schaukel geliebt. Danke Sabine 🤗

Mjesto gdje se praktično živi i razvija ekološki način življenja i istinska povezanost s prirodom. Mjesto gdje hrana pripremljena za goste raste u permakulturnom vrtu dizajniranom u obliku Venerinog cvijeta. Posebnost Gea Vive je i jedinstveni prostor auditorija u kamenom krugu u kojem je moguće organizirati koncerte, događaje i meditativna okupljanja.
Gosti mogu sudjelovati i na satovima yoge koje vodi svestrana kreatorica cijelog projekta Sabine, koja je svoju edukaciju završila u Indiji.
Lokacija je idealna za organizaciju i održavanje različitih događaja i seminara, u tišini prirode a opet nadomak obližnjeg mjesta Milna na predivnom otoku Braču.
