VERY EXPENSIVE AND DISORGANIZED TRIP TO SPLIT 14.06.2019
My mom and I stayed in Croatia for a week at Medena Beach, the last day I wanted to offer my mom a nice panoramic boat trip to Split and back, the offer cost 150 kunas which included the boat trip and drinks, even if on a board of the same kiosk I saw, after the reservation of course :( , a trip for Split of 160 kuna for boat trip, drinks and ticket for the castle but by now I had booked, it was the last day and therefore I wanted to let it go. The basic line boat for Split there and back is about 80 kunas found on this site http://www.filipsmarina.com/portfolio-items/trips-split/#prettyPhoto, but I wanted something special for my mom.
But to my great surprise from a small ship that was advertised on their website (http://www.filipsmarina.com/portfolio-items/trips-split/#prettyPhoto) we found ourselves on a boat for 12 people (we were 14 ) for a journey of 2 hours you cannot practically move and half of the passengers have had the misfortune of being on this journey in full sun. The drinks offered were a bottle of juice, water, wine and a strong alcohol that was kept in a mini mini fridge.
The driver of the boat asked us to pay the balance while we were in the middle of the sea and when I tried to get the information about the price and the service provided, a discussion was born and "the captain" said that if I don't pay all 150 kunas we all go back, I had to give up and accept.
Also after the trip I realized that "the captain" did not give me the rest of 50 kuna (partially my fault but I was angry for the treatment immediately) and I must say that he had some confusion with the payments, he continued asking money to passengers even if they confirmed that they had already paid.
The board with the publicity of a trip for 160 kuna on my return has been cleaned up. A behavior from my point was very unprofessional and think that say sorry would have been enough, etc.
I could understand since it was not in high season but it would have been nice to warn us before that the boat would be smaller and maybe make a small discount instead of rude behavior by the staff. For me it was not a question of money but of principle and of absolutely absent honest behavior.
Never again.
