🥩🍖🥓🥗🍝Istrian AUTHENTICITY at it's peak. This place is quite a secret (amongst tourists, not locals). Understandable, given the fact it takes around 30 mins from most coastal towns. What makes this place so special though? 3 factors:
1) The incredibly yummy food: pretty much everything from wine to meat to pasta is housemade. Not exactly fancy, but even more delicate and authentic.
2) The cozy interior and decoration. You feel like people out for a treat have also been enjoying this place 500 years ago
3) The hardwarmingly friendly family who runs this place. The second you arrive the serve you a welcoming smile (along with a housemade Schnapps), which lasts until the shake hands after they send you back to your fancy hotel.

On a side note: I wouldn't recommend this place for vegetarians (even less for vegans). They do have some options but meat is their USP.

On another side note: the prices are around half of most places in the tourist hotspots.

We had lunch at Tomaževa konoba a couple of days ago. We had a plate of cold cuts and cheese, which came with a lovely melt-in-your-mouth fig and some peach. Both went perfectly with house ombolo, pancetta and sausage.

For main course we had fuži with truffles and fuži in tomato and sausage sauce.

Both absolutely delicious. A drop of local olive oil and a tea spoon of parmesan cheese took fuži in tomato sauce into another dimension. We also had house white wine (malvazija) which went quite nicely with the food.

Staff was really lovely and accommodating (we had a three year old with us who's main source of nutrition right now is plain pasta).

We were seated in the back garden, which is small and quite cozy and the music was perfect. Overall a lovely, relaxing experience.

We'll come back.

If you're around, please do not pass by. The place is amazing. The food is gorgeous. The proshuto is just perfect. Warm and welcoming service. The owner and his daughter are running the place. Cozy atmosphere. Old rarities are presented. Pay attention to the paintings on the wall. You might be surprised. The rooms upstairs are nice, clean and one will enjoy the view

We were there in 2 families with kids. We felt like visiting a family home with very friendly atmosphere. Waiter amazed us by not writing down our order, he memorized everything! We've got special pasta with tomato sauce for kids without any problem. Handmade pasta was great, first time we've eaten this type of pasta (similar to penne). The veggie soup was so fresh and meats was great as well. Even such simple thing as french fries was so tasty. And you can taste local schnapps at the entrance :) when leaving you can buy their specialities to take home. That's definitely a place that is worth to come back!

Konoba is located in wonderful quiet istrian area. From a very start incredibly warm welcome from Konoba's personnel accompanied with homemade rakija of choice, the best I ever had! (And I really tried a lot). We ate Gnocchi with truffles and prosciutto and Ombolo. Both exquisite in taste. The local wine we drank called Malvazija was so rich in fruity smell and taste I felt dizzy from sensory overload (and I don't usually like white wine).
10/10 would come again, 10/10 would recommend!!

Exceptionally good food and service. Although we came unannounced and all the tables were reserved, they offered us a table so we could dine.

For starters we were offered 4 types of spirits (visnjevaca, lozovaca, travarica and borovnicke) one better than the other. The portions are big and taste delicious.

Prices are also modest for the unforgettable experience!

It is really a hidden gem, and we will definitely put it in our regular spot when finishing climbing in Dvigrad.

Nice place to hide from other tourists. Better to reserve in advance. Truffle pasta was amazing.

Small family owned Konoba away from the high price but low quality coast „Restaurants“. Great food, self made wine, oil, bacon and ham. Clear recommendation!
