Villas Pico Bonito

We had a VERY nice, relaxing and peaceful stay! We originally booked the cheapest room (it is right beside the road.. not the nicest place) but… what a nice surprise when the owner upgraded us to a room right by the river, what a nice gift!!
Staff is very friendly, good food and drinks, German beer on site (Tucher) very cool infinity pool, the surrounding is paradise like, you walk through many different paths in the nature to go from one place to another other, we were able to relax and unwind, at some point we were the only guest!! The hotel is not too big. The kitchen and bathroom would need a bit of renovation but not enough to give 4 ⭐. I went swimming in the river (careful with the current though)

The location is beautiful and the rooms are spacious and well maintained. The service was better than at any of the fancy hotels in the city.

We stayed a couple of nights to relax and spend some time with the family. The property is stunning, and an absolute dream come true for nature lovers. The gardens, the pool, palapas, meditation areas, and cabin designs are all perfect. The food at the restaurant was very good and very generous portions. Service was fine with just a few minor gripes but nothing that ruined the overall experience. Would love to return and spend more time there.

Villas Pico Bonito was more that expected, and I will treasure the memories. Richard, the owner was easy to communicate with from the states, and answered all my questions and arranged transport (small fee) from the airport in La Ceiba. The restaurant stayed open late (closes at 630pm) knowing we were coming. The food was delicious and the beer was always cold, we ate most every meal at the restaurant - it was very affordable and better than having to cook myself, despite having a kitchen in the lodge. The staff was so attentive,
particularly Isabel who always had a smile and was a pleasure to see every day. We also made a friend in Lexi, one of three German Shepherds on the property. She was by our side most the day and night. There are many excursions from the property- the river rafting is a must. The water level was down but we still had a blast! We got to swim in the clear water and jump from the boulders. If you like a challenge do the waterfall hike - the terrain is challenging but the falls were beautiful. If not up for excursions swimming in the river or the well maintained also makes for a great day. Go! You wont regret it.

We had a lovely stay! The villa was ready ahead of time and it was clean and beautiful. The pool has the most beautiful view and the place is truly relaxing. We had a unique couple experience and I highly recommend for people who want a more private and luxurious stay.

Service is excellent. Staff is excellent. Food is excellent. The location is amazingly beautiful and quiet. The Rio Cangrejal provides relaxing sounds. Parts of the road are not easy but it is totally worth the ride.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the treehouse! The grounds are beautiful and it was so peaceful. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful.

The rooms where very clean and had everything you needed. It's very quiet and peaceful. You can see and hear the river from your room. It's about a 1-2 minute walk to the river where the water is clean and fresh! Went there twice while I was in Honduras. Would definitely go again 😊

It is so peaceful, quite and beautiful. Everywhere you look is unbelievable. A flowing river with Rapids in one direction a huge waterfall in another, surrounded by mountains and jungle. My wife and I sit in the morning and count how many toucans and parrots fly by on their way to forage. Humming birds everywhere. We watched 2 yellow birds right off our porch build their nest. Love it there can't wait to be there again soon.

I visited this place a year ago and I have to say it is one of the most amazing and beautiful places I have ever visited. Richard the owner and his staff were over the top accommodating. The food was fantastic. The drinks were just killer tropical bliss. The bar was beautiful yet natural and rustic - but in the very best way. The rooms were like a fantasy - the best way to describe them would be Gilligan's island meets total comfort and luxury. The pool is clean and refreshing with a view of the river that is fantastic.
We were talking among the boys and I said, "the only thing this place is lacking that could make this place heaven would be a game of cornhole, but no one in Honduras has ever heard of it" as we laughed. Richard the owner heard us. In 5 minutes he showed up with 2 full sized cornhole boards with built-in LED lights marking the holes and 8 regulation bean bags. We were blown the heck away!!! What??? Really??? Heck yes - really. Not just cornhole but the best cornhole boards and bags I have ever seen and with the LED lights marking the holes, we could play well into the night and drink...which we did!
I cannot say enough good things about this place. It's just amazingly gorgeous. One of the nicest places on the planet - really!

The owner, an Englishman from Newcastle, is a very good host.

Unquestionably the most comfortable accommodations in Pico Bonito National Park. The villas are all kept to a high standard, with all the amenities of a home, surrounded by lush jungle and tropical gardens. Right on the river, you can choose to enjoy the sunset from the infinity pool, or take a walk along the Cangrejal. Keep busy hiking to waterfalls, white water rafting, horseback riding, mountain biking, boulder jumping, and more. Or just enjoy the sounds of the many varieties of tropical birds. I've been twice, and am already planning my next trip - perfect for groups, or a romantic getaway.

Don't look any further! There are other places around that are much more expensive, but why pay more when this place is affordable and just perfect. The gardens, the villas so clean and....perfect! The amazing pool, the view, location just by the river. But most of all, the people!! Thank you to all of you for a perfect stay.

This place is absolutely magical. The surroundings are gorgeous, the waterfall, the river and rainforest are straight out of nat geo.
The staff is attentive and the manager has been more than accommodating.
This is an experience that should be on your bucket list. Don't forget to ask about the excursions; river rafting, reppell down a waterfall or just a hike thru the rainforest.

One of my favorite in Jungle places, always love going there with my family great staff, and the service is beyond excellent. Will recommend this place to anyone every time

Beautiful place. Villas are like little houses around the place. Food and drinks at the bar are good too. More than recommended if you want the jungle experience. There is no a/c but it is not necessary.

Had a great time hiking, rafting and enjoyed staying in unique rooms looking at the beautiful view.
