Asados Típicos Las Tejas

Start with the chips and queso. The queso is served utop a charcoal chiminea. It will stay hot until it's gone.
For large groups, I recommend the large, sharable platter that includes, Carne, chicken, pork sausage. Drinks are cold and service is provided by waitresses who are always on the move and are fast and efficient.

One tidbit if you're with a large group. Figure out before you get to the restaurant how you're going to pay the bill and ask for only one check.

Not much for seafood; but then El Progreso is not located at the coast either. Excellent selection of meats, however.

No wine on the menu but plenty of beer and cocktails.

HUGE portions. We shared a ceviche and a mixed grill; and still had a full lunch next day.

Likely one of the more expensive restaurants in El Progreso but, despite eating too much, a few drinks each and lunch for next day, the tab "only" came to just under 1,000 Lempiras (+tip).

Definitely excellent value!!!

Just a heads up that they have Karaoke on occasion; which we experienced. This can be quite loud and annoying but, once we "went with the flow", it was actually entertaining.

Great food, great drinks, nice plan for large groups. The grilled steak and chicken are fantastic. Ask for a lemonade with water, it's spectacular. The water bottle is held upside down in the margarita glass.

There's a large family style meal, fajita style, with tortillas, steak, chicken, plantains, the sauces are tasty, especially the cilantro with oil, the pico de Gallo is ok, but the cortido with picked cabbage, onion and carrot is my favorite.

Highly recommend and will definitely try it again.
