Beautiful national park! Saw so many torogoz and colorful birds!!! The bird expert is extremely knowledgeable and even knows how to call over birds to get closer. J also did the cacao tour and it was a small group and extremely informative. We made the chocolate bar from scratch! We even picked our own cacao. 100% recommend :) Just make sure to double check how to get there before driving ! Google maps sometimes sends you to another entrance that is incorrect, you should start at the gas station El puma :) I didn’t stay in the rooms but based on the pictures I’m sure they’re beautiful… I would’ve liked to stay but didn’t have the time

Great place to go on a cacao tour, we saw the whole process from fruit picking to chocolate bar making and we got to do it all ourselves! Very interactive, interesting and fun!

This place is awesome to disconnect from the world. To experience how good life could be living alongside nature. You can experience sleeping in a cabin made of adobe and realized that type of construction is for everyone in every climate. The best chocolate drink I have ever taken. They offer an excellent cacao tour, showing you the whole process to make artisanal cacao powder.

Luna del Puente is a unique place to enjoy the serenity of nature and connect more deeply with the people and environment around you. Our experience there began by simply sitting under the beautiful forest canopy and relaxing with hot chocolate and coffee grown and prepared wholly on site and fair-trade.

The next morning we went on our first bird spotting tour which far exceeded our expectations; highly recommended! The Cacao tour was another top highlight, especially because the owners also lead the tours and share their passion for the knowledge and experiences!

Every day we discovered more on the walking paths, in the hammocks, and of all the delicious Honduran fare they offer (with vegetarian options and perhaps more vegan as well on our next visit!?:)

We stayed in a cabin and were blown away by how beautifully minimalist and rustic the rooms are. The beds and pillows are great quality so we slept amazing. Affordable prices and laid-back family vibes are more reasons why we think this is the best place to visit/stay in Honduras!

We are so grateful to the owners and staff who protect and share the natural beauty, culture, and knowledge of this land with everyone! We will be back ASAP!:)

Luna del Puente surpassed our expectations within the first 5 minutes of arrival. After traveling up the mountain side, we found the beautifully decorated sign and driveway lined with flowers. We were promptly greeted with a warm smile and hello from Santiago as we entered the reception/restaurant area. He showed us around the property and our tent site for the night. All of the staff at Luna del Puente were so kind and made us feel at home. We sat by the fire at night and chatted with little Ceil who taught us Spanish and kept our sticks stocked with marshmallows. There’s really something for everyone at the preserve - bird watching, hammocks and cervesas, chocolate, delicious food, hiking trails, and a wealth of history and knowledge of the general area from the staff. The tour of the cacao farm with Mariana and Santiago was the ‘cherry on top’ of an incredible stay at Luna Del Puente. Thank you so much 🧡

We did the chocolate tour last week. We went out into the orchard and learned how to select ripe cacao pods. Our hostess was excellent although her English is a little limited. We had an interpreter so that wasn't a problem. Next we went into a roasting/tasting house and helped roast the cacao seeds. After removing the hulls, we took turns grinding the chocolate seeds/nibs into a paste. The plain paste was amazing (if you like really dark chocolate). Out hostess added sugar in steps to taste the transformation. We also had hot chocolate and chocolate tea (made with the outer husks of the seeds). It's a great place for a tour and there are camping opportunities. If you're in the area, I highly recommend it.

We came here for the day and met Damian who was awesome. We went on a guided bird walk, seeing and hearing many of the specialties in the forest and learning about the local plants as well. After we had one of the best lunches in Honduras and learned about the Chocolate they make there - and purchased some to take home! There was no cell signal, but there was working wifi in the main lodge area. The grounds were beautiful with well marked trails and informative signs nd we would love to stay there one day! TIP - this is the CORRECT google maps listing. there is another one incorrectly labeled further north. The one labeled "Ecofina" is incorrect.

I stayed 3 nights in April 2018 and I absolutely loved it. Calm and relaxing place with amazing birdwatching. The food served was great and they made it vegetarian.
