The Centro Medico is a private hospital. This place mostly hires doctors that have developed a good reputation. Most doctors here are under the supervision of Dr. Barrillas Sr. who has been a pediatrician and great help to the community for over 45 years of experience. The place is fairly new and they continue to innovate the place and technology. Better than Regional Hospital of Zacapa (the public hospital). I reside in Las Vegas, Nevada. Have family in Zacapa and that's how I heard about this doctor and hospital. This visit of mine was due to having horrible pain in my privates due to an epydimitis and testicular varicose. I was not helped in the States as I expected. At first I was skeptical about the doctors in Guatemala overall. They have a reputation of killing people due to negligence and malpractice. Doctor Gilberto Barillas is an individual short in words, pays close attention to detail, has a good reputation internationally, and has enough knowledge around the topics of what I was going through. He gave me some medicine to treat the infection at first to break the ice of my predicaments. When I noticed a relief I booked the surgery to correct the T-varicose. The hospital has great rooms comparing to what is close around here. The service is good. The nurses are professional and caring. Due to the high volume of people that look for Dr. please bring lots of patience for appointment. I was number 13, 16, 36 and 23 for some of the appointments. He typically has assisted me between the times of 6-10 PM. He starts helping customers around 2ish PM and does not leave until the last appointment is helped. I do recommend you to take the office's number and call after two o'clock every hour to find out what number they are at. Some patients don't make it to their appointment and therefore your turn can be expedited. There are two filters that you go through when waiting. The first floor and the fourth one. I was at the hospital two days and I paid a thousand extra of what the doctor said was gonna charge because I had to buy the medication. They have wheelchairs to take you to the car parking lot on the emergency side of the hospital after surgery. I did have ultrasounds done and other clinical analysis to figure out my exact condition at different locations. However, the doctor conducted a physical examination to determine there wasn't a hernia or something else that could be happening. One thing I can tell you about my whole experience is that the doctor loves what he does and does not need my money or your money for a reason to operate on you. At least that was my experience. It has been about a month and a half after my surgery now. I feel that even though I am in the process of recovery. I do not feel the problem I originally came for. I was having trouble peeing. Had a burning sensation with some pain. The pee felt obstructed. Had abdominal pain, back pain, testicular pain, and lots of stress. So far so good. To have an idea in dollars of what is going to cost you is about two thousand and that's plenty!

Muy buena atención en el Hospital aunque no se puede decir lo mismo del comedor del Hospital muy mala atención.

Dr. BarillasbMuy bueno, lastima la secretaria que tiene en zacapa, atiende muy mal 😖 no solo vía telefónica si no tambien presencial. Pésimo servicio.
