Hostal Paraiso San Jose

It's a hidden gem. Great location. Friendly staff. Breakfast is included. I got the private room with a shower. It was great. WiFi kept disconnecting though.

The owner, Ronny, is a super friendly guy. We ended up staying here almost a week waiting for the rain to stop. (The whole town lost power a few times due to the storm!)
There is secure parking, wifi, and occasionally hot water. Extra blankets are available for when it's cold.
We had a room with two double beds and a private bathroom for 320QTZ. Breakfast was included.
There is food service here; we were able to enjoy decent dinners for 60 QTZ each.
Be aware that when you leave the main road you will drive on an unpaved road for several hundred meters to get to this place; if it's been raining short sections will be muddy.

Excellent place. Arrived there without reservation on the front gate soaking wet in the dark. They immediately gave me a room to stay without lots of talking. It was affordable, nice and clean. Really enjoyed crashing there. Main Road is just a 5 Minute walk.

This place is a gem. Tonight is our last day in Santa Cruz Verapaz. It was such a relaxing 3 nights in Hostal San Paraiso. After a week in San Pedro Lake Atitlan and a day in Chichicastenango, we were ready for some quiet evenings

Pros:
-Peaceful courtyard garden
-Strong wifi in room and courtyard
-Hammocks and lots of upstairs lounge space
-Phenomenal food, we ate dinner here three nights in a row.
-Hearty breakfast is included. Eggs, fresh tortillas, beans, chorizo, and coffee.
-Vegetarian options
-Very friendly staff

-15 min from Coban (10 Q) for coffee tour and orquid sanctuary. Catch any bus that says Coban on it.

-45 min from the Biotopo (20Q). The bus stopped in Purulha and from there we took a 15Q Tuk Tuk directly to the nature park. We saw a quetzal today!

-Hot water and towels, soap, shampoo

Cons

Not really a con but it is not directly in Coban. For me this was a plus because I was tired of the city and smog and noise. This place was an isolated paradise and the perfect distance for the Coban coffee farms and nearby Biotopo.

Es un hotel como bastante área verde, tiene parqueo, wifi, agua caliente en ducha y una muy buena atención. Recomendado. Yo volveré en otra oportunidad.

Más de lo que esperaba. El personal muy agradable y amigable, ofrecen comida en el lugar a un precio razonable y el hospedaje incluye desayuno, al menos en mi habitación lo incluía. El café que sirven es decente, las vistas son agradables y la cama reconfortante. Quizá la época del año ayudó (finales de septiembre) pero el clima se prestó para un descanso muy placentero. Definitivamente regresaría con mi familia o mi pareja para gozar de un buen fin de semana.

Excelente servicio, por si les sirve el celular lo encontré en su página de FB (5316 4660), el lugar es lo justamente dentro de la naturaleza para estar en completa paz y lo suficientemente cerca de la carretera para tener comunicación, el wifi es bueno, las camas son ricas, y la comida también, en general una de las mejores opciones estuve una semana

Que lugar más espectacular, no hace falta nada si quieren estar en un ambiente totalmente natural y tranquilo, este es el más indicado, y la atención de lo mejor. Con un anfitrion muy peculiar, el noble Boby.
Vamos a volver!!!
