Chocolate Antigua

Totally worth the 15 to 20 minute ride from Antigua. The tour is fantastic and there's a free sample of hot chocolate. The prices are much better here than in shops in Antigua.

Nice place with amazing hand made chocolates

Chocolate Antigua is a small factory with a shop. We enjoyed stopping here to learn about how the chocolate is made and sampling different varieties of chocolate. The service was excellent and pleasant. The store is quant. The area is beautiful. Credit cards are accepted for purchases.

Lovely place to visit, sort of a hidden gem. The lady gave us a tour of their little chocolate "factory" and we witnessed how every single step of the process to make delicious chocolate is done by hand, from roasting cocoa beans, cleaning them, crushing and grinding them, to pounding the powder in round patties. We were offered some hot chocolate to taste and it was delicious (chocolate with rice, a wonderful discovery). There is also a shop to buy all their products and they're much cheaper than in choco shops in Antigua and elsewhere.

A great way to learn about chocolate making in Guatemala: you can see the free live demonstrations on weekdays from 8 to noon (no reservations needed). Weekend tours are based on the picture booklet only, but you still get to learn a lot and taste the chocolate beans. They also let you sample the chocolate flavors before buying them. The free tour comes with a small cup of hot chocolate. Beautiful place and friendly staff!

Beautiful establishment. If you get the chance to take a tour I highly recommend it. They even offer the tour in English. It is amazing how the chocolate is made. It is also very delicious. There is a little cafe area you can sit and enjoy your drinks.

I loved this place! The people are very kind and helpful. You can sample all of the flavors of chocolates. Definitely worth a visit from Antigua. Also the central plaza has beautiful views of Agua and the valley.

Definitely awesome to see how they make chocolate, they give you a class on what they do here, the people who helped us here were definitely great and they seem to love what they do, feel free to ask away, they will be very happy to give you all the info you need. Also you get some tastes of the chocolates you want and that's a plus. Over all I would recommend this place if you are in Antigua.

A hidden gem, well worth looking for. Going inside is like Dorothy opening the door of her bleak house and seeing Oz; it's beautifully decorated and landscaped. The tour is delightful and the chocolate is delicious.

Really cute place.
The staff were super Friendly and helpful. Spoke English. Gave us a little tour and explained the special process how their chocolate is made. They let us sample the different types also.

An excellent place to visit to see chocolate made without heavy machines.

Pulled up and got to hear about artisanal process, sample all flavors (cardamom, ginger, vanilla, chile cobanero, rice, coffee, cinnamon, etc.) and taste small hot chocolate made from the wheels. Back home, made myself ganache from the strong 75% semi-sweet pieces.

Great wine with a local fruit in San Juan del Obelispo. I bought a bottle of honey and it's really good and healthy.
