Ankasa Reserve Lodge

Great place, the cheaper rooms are a bit cramped and have no aircon. The more expensive rooms with balcony are nicely located along the forest edge.

Food is great and the staff very friendly!

Location is 100metres outside the Ankasa NP, so fantastis fot birdwatchers.

Ankasa Lodge is a new and hidden gem deep in the Ankasa Forest. It is one of the most memorable places I’ve ever stayed & a highlight of all the time I’ve spent in Ghana. It’s a long trip to get there from
Accra, but worth it if you love nature or want to support ecotourism.
The Forest in ancient and stunning and the guides are from the area and very knowledgeable. The Lodge manager, Francis, and his team provided a warm welcome and wonderful service.
There are budget room options, but we decided to upgrade to an executive suite upon arrival and were very glad we did. We loved the comfortable room and the balcony overlooking the river.
Don’t miss the STUNNING Bamboo Cathedral and consider riding through the nearby village of French Man and it’s rubber plantation. (We just went for the cell signal but ended up fascinated by everything we saw there.)
The Ankasa Forest is living history and one of the most fascinating and authentic experiences you can have in Western Africa. Highly recommend. Please visit!

Ankasa Reserve Lodge is the perfect spot for nature lovers as the sound of the forest surrounds you all the time. The staff is extremly kind and gave me a pleasant stay and delicious meals. Travelling as a backpacker I was more than happy that budget rooms are offered, the room was small but very comfortable and I just loved the proper shower after staying in some hostels before. But the chalets looked very exclusive and comfortable as well. A local guide, who was organised by the lodge, went hiking with me deep inside the rainforest, an unforgettable experience!

We camped with our Hilux and roof top tent, and they kindly gave us sole access to a separate toilet and shower, which were superb. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. Did a half day birding tour into the forest which was great fun. Would definitely recommend a stay over here.

We stayed here in January 2023. It's a really special location - the accommodation is great, food delicious and staff very warm. We particularly enjoyed the mountain biking tour.

Wir sind für einen Tagesausflug in den Ankasa Regenwald gefahren. Vor Ort wurden wir herzlich in Empfang genommen und mit unserem Guide Sam machten wir uns auf den Weg. Sam zeigte uns bei einer circa zweistündigen Tour den Regenwald, erklärte viel zu Natur und Historie und führte uns zu einem wunderschönen Fluss. Nach diesem Erlebnis haben wir ein leckeres Mittagessen im Restaurant genießen können. (Wer vor der Tour bestellt, muss nicht so lange warten) das Essen war sehr lecker. Neben traditioneller Küche gab es auch viele Angebote für den europäischen Geschmack.
Die Natur ist hier wirklich unberührt und man merkt, dass Tiere und Natur nicht unter Tourismus leiden.
Insgesamt zehn von zehn, wir würden wiederkommen.

Wunderschön hergerichtete Lodge direkt vor dem Eingang des Parks. Alles ist sehr neu und sauber und sieht perfekt aus. Die Lodge ist auch entsprechend teuer.

En finfin lodge med god mat och ytterst trevlig personal som ligger i en enastående vacker djungel.
