You’ll learn how beads are made in Ghana and see the process of making different types of beads. Cedi is a good teacher and if you’re lucky he will make a bead for you to see.
The grounds are nice and he has a showroom where you can buy some beads.
Ghanaian beads are fascinating and ancient.

Tip: you can take the beads lessons, make your own bead, continue your trip (to Akosombo or Adomi area perhaps) and pick up the beads on your way back.

Cedi Beads is the real stuff as far as recycled Glass beads! Nomoda E. Djaba, owner and master bead maker takes you personally on a tour of the factory where most steps are done by hand in a very labor intensive activity. You are able to witness from beginning to end the creation of these small but beautiful pieces of art...the Krobo Beads. Nomoda E. Djaba is the co-author of The Are of Recycled Glass Beads a book that takes you on a journey through the whole process of recycled glass. A visit to Cedi Beads is really worth while traveling to Ghana. Highly recommended.

A group of us toured and were taught the art of bead making. The staff were knowledgeable and patient. Making our own beads was so much fun! Good activity to try out.
