Wli Agumatsa Waterfalls

It's a long hike to the falls but definitely worth the journey. A shower under the falls is an unforgettable experience. Would highly recommend. Next time will definitely visit the upper falls and spend a longer visit

Wli waterfalls are the tallest in Ghana. Access roads are notgood. Once in the site foreign visitors pay 60 cedis ti visit the lower level of falls. It is a walk of 30 to 50 minutes through a shaded path in the hreen forest and cocoa plantation along the small river. If you want to visit the upper level consider to overnight since the walk is difficult and takes several hours.

Experiencing this close to nature first time got me amazed, the world continues to mesmerize me as nature is really beautiful.

The journey to the falls is not on silver platter but exactly an experience of a life time.🏃🏃

You will get to learn the history of this play by the local community and also feel the ever greeny forest as you journey to the water falls crossing those 9 bridges along the way as each brings you closer to the destination 🌟

Once there, one can have a feel of the fresh water by swimming or just sitting inside the water relaxed😁😁

It is always good to get to the place early to enjoy the fall pretty enough before night falls.

Get to know the story behind the water and it's myth as there is no reward in getting spoiled with second or third person information 😂😂.

Everybody may have a difference experience, but at the end of the day it is worth it, gather all the information you need, you can wear proper foot wear as you journey through the forest, to keep your feet dry before getting to the fall itself.

Loved everything about the Agumatsa waterfalls! Went in the rain and it was quite an experience. Get prepared it’s a walk to the actual falls! Very helpful tour guides who gave us a true experience of nature. Looking forward to return for a hike to the view point and the highest point of the falls.

This is one of the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever seen. The walk to the waterfall is about 30-45mins based on how fast you walk but once you get to the waterfall itself, you forget how long it took you. The view is just priceless.

The waterfall is always packed with groups visiting from all over. Note that it rains often in the forest and it normally comes without warning. My friends and I got completely drenched on our way out of the forest😂 but BOY, we even enjoyed the rainfall.

Wli Waterfall is a place I will definitely visit often.

Fantastic place to visit with spectacular waterfall. The walk from the car park takes around 45 minutes. It's a flat easy walk. There are 9 bridges to cross 3 of which are in a poor state of repair with only wooden planks to walk on. It's not really dangerous. The bridges are maybe 1 meter above the river and its not deep but fall would be unpleasant. Most people will be OK with this. The guide was friendly and helpful and let us stay as long as we wished. There are some shops at the visitor centre where you can buy drinks, gifts and even food. This visit was one of the highlights of my Ghana trip.

Wli Amagatse literally means 'Allow me to Flow'. A magnificent waterfall by all standard located in Hohoe Municipality. It is the highest waterfall in Ghana and the tallest in West Africa measuring approximately 80 feet. It is found in the Amagatse forest which is inhibited by over 25 bird species, monkeys,wild fruits etc. The fall has both a lower and higher fall. I did the lower fall . You have to hike some 30 minutes from the tourist information center to the falls while crossing over 7 bridges . The mountain from which the fall flows is home to over thousand fruits bats which can be seen clinging on the cliff and flying in the sky. I was lucky to experience a bountiful fall because it had rained the previous day. An in store in the information center deals with African artifacts, earrings,bags,Prints etc. It was a weekday trip so less noise and spent all the time I needed there. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and down to earth. I would definitely go back again.

Registration was simple. The fee was affordable. And a tour guide was provided.
It's an absolute beauty and so refreshing. Would do it again.

If you’re looking for a good hike, this is for you. Ask for the hike to the upper falls. It’s terrific but get ready for the challenge. The climb is pretty steep.

So cool and refreshing.
It takes 5 hours to and from the heigher falls using the steep route.
3 hours in and out using a more easy route to the higher falls, and an hour and half to the lower falls.
I chose the easiest way 😂, 1.5 hour in and out, but I'm certainly gonna go the harder way another time 😊.

So you'd cross 9 bridges in total before getting to the fall, the 1st bridge is over water from Togo and the remaining 8 are from the falls.

The people are super friendly and nice. There are shops available to buy from, artifacts and souvenir

A very natural and nice waterfall in Hohoe. I had a very enjoyable time today. I love the soothing sound of the streams,waterfall,the butterflies and the birds singing. It needs more development and restaurants. It takes about 45mins walk from the office up to the waterfall. The atmosphere is serene and calm.

A natural environment with variety of inserts and birds. Bats are very common.
The fall is collected in a vast area that creates an opportunity for swimming and a pool side experience.

The rout to the fall is a mixture of exercise and adventure. It took us less than an hour to get the fall and come back. I loved the fact that the surrounding was not so deep which is safe for everyone. You may however need to be careful of the deeper side on your left coming from the village (your tour guide will tell you).
It's peaceful and refreshing. Pass by when you are in the region.

The water in the Wli falls is running every time of the year. I went there in February, which is the end of the dry season and probably the worst time of the year, but it was beautiful anyway!

For me this is the best waterfall you can tour.
You can lazily tour the lower falls. The lower falls are for starters but if you are strong, pay and go to the hiking higher falls.
The staff are good are always ready give you the best guides.
