The national museum of Ghana is such a historic place to visit. The place offers both pictorial art and views as well as written history.

The tour guide gave us an extensive overview and vivid explanations which was very educative.
The place is neatly and well organized with great and historical information.

I had the opportunity to ask questions and also I got the information I needed.
The place is a must visit as I was intrigued by the echoes of our voices when we talked.

There’s a shop that sells African stuffs, ranging from bags, fan, slipper, apparels etc.
They also have a restaurant that offers meals as well.

Suitable for all ages, especially school goers to know more history of the country.

I highly recommend this place for visitors.

I actually visited here in 2003 and it was mostly a bunch of dusty glass cases with hard to read descriptions and not terribly impressive at all.

Now, however, it's a bright and shiny set of displays that looked great with clear, prominent descriptions to accompany them.

Awesome improvement, definitely worth a visit.

You can easily spend an hour here although the tour was roughly 30 minutes. You will learn a lot about history and culture. The museum has a gift shop and a restaurant on the premises. You can continue the tour on your own outside where there are various statues surrounding the facility.

Good good museum to know the dated history of Ghana.

Its people have such a diverse and long history; great to see how they have remained together despite their diversity.

The museum and its guides are well and courteous.

Amazing artifacts to show the rich Ghanaian culture. Staff are helpful and courteous. Had a lovely time there and it was such a fun way to know about the history of our motherland. I loved the spider web and the echoing effect it had under there.

The National Museum is one of the treasures of Ghana, as it preserves the history and culture of the land, they were all so beautiful to see and I particularly liked the echoing effect under the spider web right at the centre of the hall .🤗🥳😆😆. They have very courteous staff and the lady in charge was so generous and thoughtful 🙏💕. When you visit Ghana, don't forget to visit the National museum .cheers

Recommend the incredible docents for personalized tour taking you through early ages of development of Ghana, its extensive historical geopolitical trade and influence, rituals and architectural examples of various faith and regional groups. All arranged in circular fashion along points of the Black Star at its center, key theme heart and soul of the nation, like Marcus Garvey and WEB DuBois rolled in together. Included video, large panel displays and variety of artifacts, engaging for all ages and accessible. Very interesting and informative, great to orient to understand the country and culture. This and Bisa Aberwa Museum in Sekondi are a must do for those seriously interested in learning about the people and cultures of Ghana.

I really enjoyed this museum. It has lots of interesting artifacts to view, and the guide was very knowledgeable about Ghanaian history. I really enjoyed viewing the art by Peter Jojo Abdallah. If I'd had a way to get it back to the US, I would've purchased several pieces. They are beautiful.
I'm not sure any under the age of 18 or so would necessarily enjoy this museum. But any adult would love it.

The recently renovated National Museum of Ghana offers a captivating journey through the country's rich history, spanning different eras and showcasing significant events and artifacts from diverse regions. While the tour guide's delivery may have lacked enthusiasm, visitors can easily access detailed information on the displays by scanning barcodes with their phones.
Overall, the museum provides a visually stunning and worthwhile experience that is highly recommended for exploration.

The tour guide was very informative and efficient, my group only had about a half hour to tour due to delays and he was able to walk us through from beginning to end with time for questions. I really enjoyed learning more about Ghana here!

This was probably the best thing I saw in Accra. I highly recommend a tour, as they are super informative, and you will immediately start making connections to practices if you are part of the diaspora. Like we learned about how kings present what kind of king they are by hat placement; to either side they are peaceful. To the back they are always moving forward. Straight up, they are serious. Made me think of people wearing baseball caps backwards and visors to the side. Also, removing your hat to greet a person respectfully came from this practice. Amazing tour.
