Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Tamale

It could have been maintained better after the AFCON 2008!

A national stadium.
Large seat capacity.
Beautiful lighting system at night.
Gym center.
A separate pitch for training.
Nice environment.
Situated In the heart of the town as well.

Went there to visit, stayed there for a game that was about to start, GH¢ 5 for the entrance. The stadium is in rather okay condition, but nonetheless it was a nice experience.

Few facilities like washrooms, furniture needs upgrade. Supporters may not sit comfortably during rainy or sunny sessions during to non-functional roofing systems. Generally functioning but addition or upgrade will make it worth visiting.

The Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, named after the late former Vice President of Ghana, Aliu Mahama, is located in the heart of Tamale, the Northern Regional capital.
It is situated at Nyohini. It is place for sports events, showbiz and entertainment, seminars etc. The glowing white painting makes it look outstanding aside it's genius modeling.

The outer perimeter is in deplorable state, something needs to be done honestly.

The stadium gives a lot of directions to visitors who want to go Tamale Old airport, Sagnarigu/Education office, Choggu, Nyohini, Tamale Collage of Education, Bagabag Collage of Education, Radio Savanna and to town starting from the Tamale sports stadium runabout.

Usually tea ins there every Saturday and Sundays. Including holidays. Its an awesome pitch to play on as a footballer.

Great place for personal events like wedding, spacious and lit

This is the biggest sports complex in Northern region. Its under the authority of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. It serves as a home for football teams in the Northern region. Ie. Tamale City fc, Real Tamale United etc. There's a well furnished gym opened to all and a conference room. There's also an open space to host events like weddings, parties etc. It serves as a venue for most concerts in Tamale.
