Lovely little cafe. Small and cozy.
Parking available outside.
On entering you recieve a warm welcome. Great selection of foods available at reasonable prices.
We had the full breakfast for £7.50.
Wow, what a plate full and as a bonus it includes a hot beverage and toast.
Lovely atmosphere as everyone involved in any conversations when spoken to.
BIG BONUS..... it's dog friendly

We stop here for post ride refreshments almost every week. Hot rolls are well filled and really nice. Lovely quiet courtyard at the back. Definitely recommend.

I had the most scrumptious dinner at the Country Kitchen Cafe! My mother and I, who are both Americans, went to Cumbria in the UK to visit my sister, who is also an American but lives there now. She and her British husband took us to the Country Kitchen in Dalston, where we had the most divine chicken, roast potatoes, veggies, my very first Yorkshire pudding, and lovely scones with clotted cream and jam. I will never be able to eat an American scone again. Joyce's daughter, Wendy, served us. She did an amazing job! Everything is prepared and cooked right there. She was incredibly accommodating when it came to individual preferences and dietary needs. It was utterly delightful and I hope to come back some day and visit again!

It's a great little spot for a coffee and bacon roll or something more, whilst offering a great atmosphere.

Absolutely lovely friendly welcoming atmosphere, locals very chatty too. By far the best breakfast I've had a while, nice selection of homemade cakes on offer too. Excellence value for money. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be back when in the Lakes again.

What a fantastic wee café! Simple menu, pleasant service and amazing value. We both had the all day breakfast and left stuffed and very happy. Absolutely delightful.

Delicious food, reasonable prices, superb service. All you could ask for. The staff in addition to being very attentive to our needs were also friendly and chatted with us. The place is small but very quaint and homely. We had the Sunday lunch and the meat was tender, plenty of food, everything delicious, including the puddings. I asked what the veg was and she said she brings out a separate plate with a selection of 4 different veg. My husband mentioned he only eats carrots and peas, and so she brought out the plate of 4 veg for me, but his plate was heaped with carrots and peas! I can't praise this place enough. Definitely stop by if you're in the area.

A wonderful little gem. You are greeted with a warm welcome and made to feel really comfortable. The meals are absolutely delicious and value for money. The staff are friendly, polite and very helpful. If you want to buy something to eat later then you can, nothing is to much trouble. I will most definetly go back again.

We live local to the Country Kitchen café. It was lovely to go and have a lovely coffee and fruit scone with jam. Had a friendly welcome and we both enjoyed ourselves.Even made new friends with a couple of other diner's. Will definitely be recommending the café to our friends and family. Stopped off here for a much needed breakfast whilst completing the Cumbria Way (and lands end to John o'groats). Amazing vegan breakfast, lovely owner and friendly locals. Was also given some fresh watermelon for the rest of my walk. Thank you xx
