Receptionist was rude very dismissive and had to wait due to the fact I arrived at 14.10 appointment was at 14.15 This is a place where I was ment to see a crisis team at 14.30 I left.

But I was admitted wrongly by police at Bell steer. Although I was frightened and scared as I have a condition fnc the staff here have done more got me in the last 4 days than my own doctors practice did. Fantastic team who are there in need of help. I can’t praise them enough. Mental health is seriously underfunded I think it’s on the brink. Anyway thank so much for your continued support

The staff were amazing they all deserve credit. Not criticisms. I was there 8 weeks and they all were yeah very busy but also very professional. Thank you for all your support. X

If the ward is full how can they take more people? People should think about it and it's not this places fault if already full.

Myself has spent this start of this year in Carseview and have been inpatient in every ward they provide. Each ward approaches situations differently which can be a negative thing especially in a crisis. Staff in some wards are very supportive and go out their way to support you and others are in the office all day making no communication with the patients so honestly its a hit or miss at this stage.
First ward i was in took all precautions to ensure i was not harming myself in any way possible even to the extent of removing some of the furniture in my room! where as on the other hand in other wards i managed to carry objects that would be deemed harmful many times without staff realising.
In all honestly there is alot to say about this place depending on each ward there is so much that could be changed for the better and so much more to be helping the patients get better instead of just observing them daily
Best// Mulberry = nice staff, took action appropriately and communicated with patients daily
Ward 2// Most staff are nice here some have different rules than others such as allowing sharp objects into the ward which i experienced myself and also really make an effort to talk to patients and take part in activities and walks with them
Ward 1// Meh few issues with staff here but most are nice but disappointed in the lack of communication with their patients in this ward thats my personal experience so dont take my word for it it may be different for everyone

Spent 3 weeks locked in this facility, the staff are obviously overworked and go through so much stress as their mood swings are about as bad as mine and I have a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder lol. So it is a bit of a hit or miss when it comes to asking to speak to someone or wanting to simply just have a "chat" about my feelings or anything I need to speak to them about because sometimes (going by their reaction) it's like you're asking them for a kidney, where as sometimes they are more than happy to sit and listen as I speak my verbal diarrhoea. I would advise when speaking to anyone in there, wether it be a "healthcare assistant" or "consultant" (massive thank you to Lynn? The healthcare assistant with blue hair who is actually passionate about her job and genuinely wants to help and does not do it for the money but wants to honestly help people, and she also doesn't make false promises (unlike some others in there) ) that you talk with caution, be careful who you trust and what you tell them "only a fish with its mouth open gets caught". I have an eating disorder so I can't leave a fair review about the food but, the bedrooms.......... Hahaha all of the furniture is fixed to the walls, the bed is a "easy clean" uncomfortable mattress that you'd normally find in a holding cell in police custody (don't ask me how I know), anti-suffocation bed sheets and pillows (for obvious reasons), the drawers do remove pretty easy and easy to use as a shield during a "extraction" however 2 golfers with a horrendous handicap and 4 other members of staff make it hard to get out of their interpretation of a "position of restraint". Don't stress if you need certain "home comforts" there are people who can get you what you what when you want. Long story short, avoid the place at all costs, Murray Royal is a much better lunatic asylum.

My husband went into the Mullberry unit in 2017, the ward staff were fantastic BUT the consultant Pell DID NOT listen to him, stated his meds were not needing to be changed because he was with in the guidelines,, the clue is in the word "guide" everyone is different,, and even with a straight face,, this doctor had a smugness to him,, i stated that I couldn't keep my husband safe due to living on a farm with a agriculture chemical shed a 100mtr from my front door and having a shed full of Chainsaws,,, I was told that it wasn't up to me to keep in safe it was the responsibility of my husband,, put in a complaint to the gent that was in charge of Carseview,, it ended up that my fellas "out patients " Consultant came in to take over,, the outcome meds were changed and he spent 4 months in the Mullberry unit,, it was a long road but we got there, 4 stars for the ward staff,, 5 stars for the Out patients Consultant,, nothing for Pell.

Carseview is the worst place I’ve ever been in my life? I went with my son and they told me and him there was nothing wrong with him. He was just struggling with life. He tried to self harm himself three times over overdose a few times even burned myself with a cigarette nurse was awful man at the reception was the only decent staff member in that place 😡😡😡😡😡😡

Ridiculous! Always sent home with no support other than being told I’m “fine” and that my mental heath struggles are all “behavioural” and “attention seeking” but yet they say this to 90% of the people they see! They are programmed to say this I swear it’s all that comes out their mouths. I reached out for help from nhs 24 and was listened to and told I would get all this help and was then transferred to the crisis team where it went the complete opposite way! As soon as they answered the phone and took my name they treated me like the way they always do and spoke down to me as if my life meant nothing to them which it doesn’t and that’s clear to see! Being taken in by multiple police officers and security under a section yet being sent away because I’m “fine” and have the decision to end my life if I wanted to -_- I was sent away after being told I was not in a crisis and this is usual behaviour for me and I “wouldn’t do anything” and it was all “threats” even though I have previous history of significant suicide attempts and yet was sent on my way to do so again … but the AUDACITY to section me for my own “saftey” and because I didn’t have capacity even though I was told hours before I had full capacity? Where is the sense in this and who’s making these decisions if someone had capacity or not by a short meeting where they don’t listen and don’t take in to account life events or don’t try to understand how we feel but yet can say if we are safe to go home?! If you are concerned for my welfare after I attempt and not when I’m reaching out saying what I wanted to do then that shows a lot. We are all just number on a waiting list to them, you phone and they “assess” you and that’s their job done and another dollar in their pocket. The mental health system is failing everyone everyday and they do not care about their patients at all. One less problem for them isn’t it?

90% of the nurses were in the job for gossip and refused to help vulnerable patients. Patients helped each other more than the nurses would. Responsible nurses are a rarity in Carseview

A friend spent a few days here with shocking care. Having been found with a ligature around her neck they told her, "That's enough. Stop scaring the staff". Then sent her home because her "behaviours" were getting worse! I rang 5 times to speak to the doctor on duty, because my friend was so distressed. The doctor told her he didn't even know why she was there despite her being told to go there by other medical professionals whose care she was under. The nurses said he would ring me back, but he never did. She walked out, past the doctor in reception, who never said a word. She went home and collapsed. Yes, mental health care is definitely in crisis here.

My partner had mental health issues and was self harming, I once had to get police to try n help her, they said she be best trying to get help from carsview, she phoned them up while police was with her, but they said she sounded fine over the phone and refused to help, even the police felt disgusted by carsview, they refused to help someone with mental health problems and was self harming simply cause she sounded fine on a phone call, within a matter of time...she passed away she was only 39yrs old, and carsview REFUSED to help, the place needs either closed down or all staff replaced, they left a 17yr old motherless, they are totally heartless and uncaring....... oh and lets not forget about the young man that took his own life in carsview while under a secure unit..... something really needs done about this place
