I love everything about this place. The food is exceptional . How can they make a plate of pasta taste so good? This was our sixth meal here on Sunday and it certainly won't be our last. They do a cracking traditional Sunday lunch for meat eaters too. Top marks.

Food was very good, everyone in the group enjoyed everything we ate. Cannot fault, service was also exceptional. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

The food was spectacular as well as the service and atmosphere. This quaint little country pub is well worth a visit and has become one of our favourite places to eat. It’s a little hidden gem.

Great food and service.
Goats cheese starter was well balanced and delicious.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Duck (from Specials board) main course, which was very tasty, but may be on the small side for some diners.
Finished with a scrumptious Black Forest Roulade.
Delightful little pub, in a small village. Strongly recommend that you book a table before hand.
Our family group of five all enjoyed their meals.
We will definitely be making a return visit.

Popped in for a coffee and cake after a dog walk. The staff were so welcoming and helpful, settled us and our filthy dogs in a quiet spot where our nervous one was chilled, and were so friendly to us and the dogs that it made a lasting impression. Not just good service, these are genuinely lovely people who like engaging with other people and doing their best for you, and it shines through.

I asked if they had cake which they were very apologetic about not doing. But they did have puddings... WOW, did they have puddings! These were to die for. The picture says more than my words could. We will be back for food next time we are in this part of the country without doubt.

Visited the restaurant last night with my partner, the food was stunning. Ordered the steak which was a splendid cut and cooked to perfection, plus the chicken tikka skewers were packed with flavour and plates were plentiful!
Staff were extremely attentive nothing was too much trouble. The venue is also dog friendly so he got treats and fuss too.
A lovely experience thank you.

My folks have been going here for years and literally never stop talking about it and having finally been I can see why. The staff were attentive, engaging, chatty and even remembered who ordered what after we decided to move places after ordering, attention to detail like that is a good thing and made me feel valued as a customer. The food is absolutely exceptional !!! I'm very fussy about Lamb but I took the plunge and ordered it. When it came there was enough to make me feel full yet not enough to leave without dessert, was this some sort of marketing tactic ? 😜🤔 The lamb literally fell apart in my mouth and was cooked perfectly along with the vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. I do love my mint sauce which was the crowning glory for my main 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Desert was just as good as the main their cheese cake has to be 1 of the best I've tasted and left me satisfied and full after what I would say was a great dining experience. The atmosphere itself was busy homely family run Inn/Pub feel that had been elevated with the inclusion of being well dressed and light in a very nice way. Staff 10/10, was a lovely day with the family and was made better by the location, food and people.

Would highly recommend and sadly can only give 5 stars 👍

Simply out of this world. Been to many pubs and had many sunday roasts but this one hands down beats them all. Fantastic food, generous portions and staff were very friendly. Just a shame we live so far away as this would be my pub of choice any given Sunday lunchtime.

First visit this year to our favourite local restaurant, and once again they delivered in style. Steaks were generous and cooked to perfection, with a very nice pink peppercorn sauce. Chicken skewers were accompanied with a fruity curry sauce, and the cilantro chicken was tasty, with a refreshing avocado and mango salsa. Only one of us had space for dessert, Sticky Toffee Pudding, which was so light, smothered with a caramel sauce. Cant wait until our return in August.

What a great place this is. Very helpful staff and outstanding food. There were a couple of big groups in when we arrived and we were told that the kitchen would be busy and there would be a delay, but we didn't seem to have a long wait. In any case the food was well worth waiting for: the photo shows my Chicken Supreme with Patatas Bravas and grilled asparagus - I'd eaten some before I took the photo. Really really good.
Others had Risotto with King Prawns - very nice! The steak burger with "Bacon Jam" and brie and trimmings including a great bun. You'll have to visit to find out about the jam.
The place is a delight and only a few miles of the A1.

We went for Sunday lunch, and what an enjoyable experience it was. We each had 3 courses all of which were excellent. It's the best roast lunch we have ever had. There was a good choice of meats, and the roast potatoes we're excellent. Very good value for money. Added to all this the service was excellent, and although they were busy we never had to wait long for our food. A big thank you to them as well for dealing with my allergies. A definite place to visit if you are in the area.

What a fantastic find on our most recent visit to Berwickshire! A warm welcome; friendly, attentive service; a menu filled with tempting descriptions of dishes; absolutely delicious food served in generous portions; set in a traditional rural setting, with complimentary and carefully incorporated contemporary design details; and a very cool soundtrack generating positive and relaxing vibes in the background. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re up in the area! My one piece of advice - make sure you leave space for pudding - absolutely not to be missed!

We had three generations dining, and everyone enjoyed their meals, which included katsu chicken burgers, homemade cod and chips, sweet potato vegetable curry, fish goujons from the children’s menu, sticky toffee pudding, and chocolate, nut toffee tart.
