Book, Bean and Ice Cream

Wow! What a find!
Spent a wonderful day there yesterday for my birthday. We had morning crumpets, soup and sandwiches for lunch and then found room for afternoon cakes (homemade and delicious) as well as plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate! The portions are generous and the food and drinks all well priced.
The staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our day and we enjoyed browsing the books in between our feasting!
I spent my birthday 'Book, Bean and Ice Cream' vouchers on some truly beautiful and competetively priced books (with 20% off hardbacks on the day we visited).
We will certainly return and can recommend this gem of a shop to all book/cake/tea and coffee lovers!

Absolutely delightful treat to find. Books, gifts, plus cafe, and the homemade toasted cheese scones served were delicious, washed down with a big mug of cappuccino coffee, sprinkled with chocolate shavings on top. Lovely ladies attending. Warm and welcoming. We'll be back.

Lovely local cafe, nice atmosphere.

Although I've walked past this place a hundred times or more, I've always been on a mission to some other place or pressed for time.
The one thing that always stuck with me was it was never empty... Always a good sign.
Finding myself with time to spare and mouth dry due to a nice sunny day, I ventured in and was pleasantly surprised at the delicious aroma of coffee and cakes, yes please 🥳
A large hazelnut latte and a generous slice of coffee and walnut cake, was quite literally the icing on the cake 😋
The staff are warm and friendly, the service was excellent and I've made it my mission to attend at least once a week, as an avid book reader this place just ticks all the boxes for a break away from the digital life, which we've all become a slave to.
My son has attended both times I've visited and as a 24 Yr old, his tastes are slightly different to mine, however we both agreed that as I prefer the feel and smell of freshly printed pages of a book, he likes to browse on his phone, in the safe and welcoming environment whilst he enjoys a coffee, ice-cream frappe, he says getting to choose a different ice-cream each time, just makes the experience that little more enjoyable.
A definite recommendation from a 24 Yr old and his 49 Yr old Dad.
Two generations enjoying the same place... Must be worth a visit.

Had an ice-cream sundae and my husband had carrot cake and cup of tea. All very delicious. Large portions. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Good mixture of meals and treats. Books and cards on sale too. Clean tables and premises. Would recommend.

Came in with a friend today. As we looked round Kirkham we couldn’t find anywhere that looked as good! Ordered 3 crumpets cheese and beans and they were delicious, fresh & quick! My friend had a tuna & cheese toastie & again came very quick with fantastic service.

It’s businesses like this that I’m sure will be sticking around.
