We stayed here on our family holiday and the location is absolutely stunning with plenty of beautiful countryside to explore. The site has a nice small family swimming pool operating a booking system for all the apartments on site which allows you 1-2 hours use each day. There is also a sports court that can be used for various activities and a toddlers play area both of which also need to be booked hourly. The apartment we stayed in was for up to 10 people and had plenty of room including a nice sized lounge, dining room and a snug that the kids enjoyed. The kitchen is well stocked with all the usual refinements you might need during your stay including a fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and two full size ovens. The property has some nice quirks which always makes for an interesting stay. If we are ever back in the area I would gladly stay again.

Lovely family orientated accommodation. We were a family aged from 2 to 74. James Parlour was warm, comfortable and well equipped. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly. Would love to visit again in the future. There are plenty of places to visit in the local area

Simply outstanding! We stayed in the Williams Hayloft barn last week. Very well cleaned and stocked with further cleaning items should we need them. We had everything we could possibly need in the kitchen, to make our meals. The rooms are very spacious and comfy.
The closed off garden area was perfect for our dog to run about. Plenty of fields to go walking in.
The pool was an excellent facility to use after a long day of walking. James and Emma were on hand to answer any questions and even resolved minor issue very quickly, nothing major just an issue with a hoover, (these things happen) which James provided a replacement straight away.
They have lots of information leaflets on places to visit and local information which was really handy.
The whole site was really impressive and excellent value for money. We most definitely will be visiting again.

Just got back from staying in Williams hayloft and wow what a lovely place to stay, the kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly want, the lounge was very comfortable and bright. All the bedrooms were lovely and cosy and the whole house and garden was impeccably clean and tidy. The garden was enclosed which was great for our dog. There is a indoor swimming pool that you book for your cottages personal use, a lovely children’s play area and tennis/football area to use. We had a very quiet and relaxing time and will definitely be booking to visit again. Thank you James and Emma for a brilliant relaxing time.

We recently stayed in James’ parlour and what a delightful stay it was! The house was roomy and perfectly kitted out with everything that you could possibly wish for in the kitchen. It was such a wonderful knife block that we have now purchased one ourselves!
We used the lovely warm pool, small but perfectly formed, every day and the tennis court was great for adults and kids alike. The little ones loved the play area so we hardly moved for several days.
Can’t recommend the parlour highly enough and would love to return.

Oliver’s Mill was absolutely perfect for us.
Very well equipped for all age groups and immaculately presented, in beautiful grounds and surrounding area.
Would highly recommend Alkington Grange Barns.

Upon arriving at Olivers Mill for the Christmas period I have to say that my first impression (on inspection) was " spotless". It was extremely clean and comfy, inviting and warm, especially on a miserable wet day.
Everything was catered for. Plenty of cutlery and crockery, tea bags, coffee and sugar. Plus a lovely welcome gift for us all.
Bedrooms were warm and comfy and the bath and showers were of high standard with more than enough hot water and pressure.
LOVED the swimming pool.
I think that Emma and James have done an excellent job here.
I would recommend this place to families who, for whatever reasons want to get together for quality family time.
Also corporate groups could use these facilities for team building weeks.
There are so many options here and we personally wish Emma and James a huge amount of success.
Certainly a Christmas to remember , for all the right reasons.

Thank you so much

David and Linda

Fantastic location and facilities. We stayed as a group of 8 in James Parlour over the Jubilee period and were very impressed with the condition, cleanliness and level of equipment in the accommodation plus the swimming pool and sports court are excellent and a real selling point. Great place to explore the local area and Emma and James are excellent and caring hosts.
5 star review for good reason

Nice quite barn conversion in a rural location. Highly recommended as there is lots to see and do in either sunny or wet weather. You'll need a car to get about, but that's to be expected.

James Parlour - Property was everything and more that we could of asked for.
Owners put alot of thought into the property that contained everything you could need for a lovely holiday. Property was spotless and in a good location.
Website was very good giving information of activities in the area which we booked several weeks before our holiday.
Contact with owners from start to finish was very efficient.
Sports court, swimming pool and the play area for younger children were a hit with our family and again efficiently ran by booking a time slot on a board.
On very satisfied family.
Thank You Alkington Grange Barns.

My family, 9 of us, spent a lovely weekend in Buttercups Hay Barn recently. It is spacious and well equipped, with some nice homely touches. It was perfect for our small family celebration.
The location is great and off the beaten track.
Highly recommend!

This was a first time experience of spending Christmas away. We arrived to immaculate accommodation, cosy and festively decorated, right down to the table laid with full settings and crackers !! The whole place was well heated, comfortable, and very well organised, with plenty of facilities/mod-cons. The owners were available and helpful when/if needed. The swimming pool was a tremendous asset for entertaining children with mild 'cabin fever' due to the wet winter weather. The local town is Whitchurch (5 minutes drive) with plenty of places where you can shop, eat out / take-away / go pubbing, if that is your preference. We have well and truly fallen for the renting-a-cottage bug ! (Just one small constructive criticism - the various showers could all do with some additional pump assistance - but hey, we were on holiday - time was on our side . . . . )

We booked James's Parlour for a family celebration because it was conveniently located for our spread out family with good facilities for children and adults and the whole family agreed. Than Covid 19 struck but we kept our fingers crossed that the restrictions would ease and all 4 families could reunite. Sadly it is not to be but Emma and James have been marvellous moving our deposit and booking to 2021. These are not easy times them and I can't thank them enough . I can confidently recommend booking with Emma and James and look forward to meeting them in 2021.

I have just returned from my 4th visit to Alkington Grange Barns and, as with previous visits, the experience was excellent. The accommodation is very clean, well-equipped and so comfortable. The environment is calm and relaxing. The owner is so helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.
