Great attraction. Lots to do and experience. We enjoyed doing the dragon experience with our 6 year old. The tour guide was amazing, lots of fun and encouraged the kids to get involved and reassured them when we went into the mine as this can be scary. Would definitely visit again.

This place was so fun. It was a great experience on the Black Chasm tour. Our guide was an amazing character and did a wonderful job. Then we did the Bank Heist Escape room. Needless to say, I'm doing 5 years. We didn't escape. We went during Easter and did the Easter Egg Hunt even tho we were adults. We won chocolates! Would do again!

Absolutely brilliant...i had a fantastic time here from start to finish a real educational experience. We tried our hands at panning which I was a complete natural at I have you know 😂🤣... we had a tour of the grounds and the mines Learning about everything from the machinery, buildings, miners and local history it was a truly wonderful and unique experience. If you are anywhere near here or just passing by, stop off at the silver mountain experience its fab. They also have escape and puzzle rooms if your up for a real brain challenge... I will be doing this in my next visit here.

The staff have a lot of experience and knowledge, it was great, we were taken down into the mine and our guide was explaining every step to us, very good. Would recommend it.

Great experience!
We took part in the dragon experience and the staff played their part brilliantly. The weather was atrocious but the Elves stayed in character for the children and all the kids involved were fully onboard. There is plenty of other activities to do there and a cafe to warm up and dry off after getting soaked.
Will definitely be back here in the future

Unbelievably brilliant attraction in the Mid Wales countryside with captivating informative tours and a variety of interactive activities. There are three tours available at the attraction which are The Miner's Life, The Black Chasm and A Dragon's Tale. A Dragon's Tale is more aimed at the younger audience and is more fantasy based and magical for the younger children. The Black Chasm tour is more scarier and aimed at the older children and adults and there are some ghostly aspects to it. Both the Dragon's Tale and The Black Chasm tours have a dramatic aspect to them and the tours are played out by actors who stay brilliantly in character throughout even when they are not involved in the tours. The Miner's Life Tour is absolutely brilliant and probably the best out of the 3 tours as the tour guide delivers it in a thoroughly interesting and informative way providing very interesting facts but also knows their subject matter extremely well detailing the life of the Miners but also the processes of lead mining along with how workers came into the Valley to work there. The Miner's Life tour also shows some great samples of Galena the rocks from which lead comes from and both The Black Chasm and The Miner's Life Tours you can visit the Mine itself where you can see first hand what life was like for the Miner's down the Mine and how the lead was mined from there and the tools used to do it. The tours are some of the most captivating around and full credit goes to the tour guides for doing an outstanding jobs and making it very interesting. There are also a variety of quizzes to do with The Miner's Trail particularly interactive and fun finding more information about different parts of the site and its importance in the Mining process. Other parts of interest around the site are the Waterwheels which look brilliant and marvel at how they work along with The Gorvel and Wood where children can have a go at Den Building. There is also Gold Panning to do which is another fun and interesting activity panning for gold and other minerals which does extra but you can take home any minerals you do find in a bag. The cafe has a range of food had reasonable prices along with the gift shop, which houses a nice range of souvenirs. The staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating helping accomodate visitors onto different tours and changing tour times where appropriate for visitors to suit their needs. Overall this attraction is a magical, fun, interactive and interesting day out for everyone and definitely one of the best attractions to visit in Mid Wales.

Really, really good day out! The staff are great and fantastic with children...the cafe does gorgeous mochas, toasties and panini's, all reasonably priced, the lady that served us was very friendly indeed. There's lots for the whole family to do. We had a lot of fun on the black chasm tour, the Woo hoo woods are brilliant (even us grown ups had fun), you can pan for gems too. We never once felt rushed, we were well informed about the mine and it's history, all delivered in an easy going way....the staff are dressed up too, which added nicely to the atmosphere. I have already recommended this place to people, would love to go back again one day.

Old Silver Lead Mine turned into entertaining family attraction with 3 different guided tours, 2 of which are actor lead theatrical performances, one for young children, the other a mine history tour. All sorts of fun and games and quizzes. Nice cafe too.

Good day out for locals and tourists alike. The site offers things for all ages and special events throughout the year. There's the choice of 3 tours; the historical, the scary and the kiddy dragon hunt. Quizzes to help you engage with both the history and fun factors. We did the historical miner's tour which was interesting and informative. Well behaved dogs are welcome but cannot go on the underground parts of the tours (which is the last third of the miner's tour). Looking forward to seeing how it develops now it has the support of local mining and heritage group funding to get aspects functional again. There is a cafe on site and/or lots of picnic tables.

Beautiful site and plenty to do to keep the kids entertained for a day. We did the dragon tour and the little ones really enjoyed it. The cakes in the cafe are tasty and reasonably priced. All in all a great place to go for a family day out.

I really enjoyed this UndergrounD adventure.

It starts with a very knowledgeable local guide who takes the small group through the museum. Then to the smaller collection of treasured artefacts.

The surface workings are explained. Questions welcome.

The evil " crusher " where 88 children died in 1 year . A hideous way to die , hundreds of years ago , was especially poignant.

Then UndergrounD tour is about ½ an hour. Not for wheelchair users or the claustrophobic but most can manage it at a leisurely pace. It's all very safe .
Sensible shoes or boots please.

There's also a great smaller tour for children to see a sleeping dragon.

Good cafe and shop.
Toilets on site.

Panning for gold for a small exta fee.

Nature and activities trail for supervised children.

Also look out for the Escape room challenge on site. Perfect for team building ,stag / hen parties or a good challenge.

The mine is written about in a superb book By Ioan Lord who is a staff member there. " Rich Mountains of lead "

Buy it online ,quickly as it's a limited edition.

If you like mining history please search for NAMHO and Subterranean Britannica ( Subbrit ) online . There's so much more to see and learn about.

Loved the experience with the guide working out way through the clues to help the dragon. Wished we had planned better and came earlier to spend more time here

Stumbled across this place by accident when passing through and so glad that we stopped by now, the tour guide was absolutely spot on, so informative knew all the answers to questions, really went in depth with the history of the mines, the workers and their families.
From the welcome to the exit the staff were so warm and friendly. It was quiet to begin with only 4 of us on the tour but got busier as the day progressed. Their escape room Jack the Ripper was fantastic not the best escape room we've done but not far off. Well done to the team working today.

Had a fantastic time here, very informative into the past of the mines. The young girl who explained everything about the mines and the history was great, any questions we asked were answered in full without hesitation.

Really good Halloween trail and Crystal the Snow Elf was fantastically engaging and kept character throughout even after our experience had ended and we bumped into here again.
