Château d'Igé

We stayed one night and had dinner. Easy to find and park at the door in secure parking. The building apparently dates from 1235 albeit much is hugely renovated. Our room was comfortable with some charm if not special. Dinner was better than we hoped. Clearly aiming at fine dinning, so many places make a fool of themselves but this was very nice. The staff were friendly. The breakfast quite generous for Central France. Nothing warm or cooked but as with dinner, they stuck with what they could do well and didn't over extend. Its not cheap but i think that you will have a pleasant stay.

A remarkable hotel with well decorated and appointed rooms and pleasant communal facilities for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. And you would be amiss not to eat in the restaurant- excellent service, food quality and creative dishes

This is a very good hotel in an excellent setting. Our room was comfortable and just big enough for an overnight stay. The swimming pool and grounds are beautiful. Dinner on the terrace overlooking the small lake was the highlight of our stay.

Great castle to stay at. We had a lovely afternoon at the pool and enjoyed a local white wine. Dinner was very good, the only drawback was the terrine which only had spots of fois gras. Vitello tonato top, mains also all very good. My fillet came as requested, rare! Cheese selection was big enough.. and the soufflé Grand Manier very good, even they didn't add additional Grand Manier on top ;-)

Very nice stay in a historic building. Our room was very comfortable, and all the staff we dealt with were polite and efficient. The evening meal was very good - the beef cheek was very tasty. Personally I felt the breakfast, while copious and delicious, was over priced. However, it is a 4 star hotel, so I can't complain about prices...

My step daughters stayed few days in the hotel with their grand parents.
They absolutely loved it.
Both of them are Vegan and one is coeliac. The hotel restaurant catered for them and they both really enjoyed the food prepared for them

Chateau d'Igé is a special secret, hidden away in the hills beyond Maçon, just a few miles off the A6 motorway in Burgundy. Old and elegant, this charming hotel, surrounded by trees, is peace personified. Dining in the 13th century but beautifully restored dining room with its old-world atmosphere and perfect attention from the waiters was a very special event. The food was equally excellent and breakfast next day, out under the trees, left no room for improvement. Free parking in the private grounds of the chateau meant I could relax overnight, and in the morning was loath to leave. I will be back in September.

Our second time here in as many months. Staying in a real castle in a very large upgraded room in a tower - what’s not to like! Even better when the service is at the 5• level! And then it’s restaurant is fabulous with excellent regional wines and foods! Fantastic dinner - our group will return.

Fitted out in a 13th century castle, the Château d’Igé**** is a true haven of peace and nature in the heart of the Mâconnais region.

And if you get there, PLEASE try out the delicious Vin d'Ige - the local brand - I surely recommend the Villeies Vignes :)

We stayed at Chateau D'Ige at the end of May 2012 and it was absolutely lovely. Our rooms were clean and beautiful, the amenities excellent and the service not only impeccable but kind and courteous as well. The gardens were in full bloom with outstanding roses while the bees hummed, the birds sang and at night there was an outstanding frog concert under the stars. The food was exceptional as expected and the wine list was quite good. It was a little snippet of heaven on earth and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

We just returned from 3 weeks in France, 2 nights in D'Ige. This is a jewel of a 13th Century hotel castle, one of the peaks of our trip. Francoise, the owner, takes great pride in seeing that guests enjoy their stay, and her staff reflects that desire. Breakfast is in a spacious modern sun room. The rest of the building reflects its age and character, and is very well maintained. Dinner was delicious, a good wine list, nice service. English is spoken by much of the staff, who we found to be very friendly and helpful. Quiet, lots of parking, pretty grounds. A great value for what you get.

Fantastic dining experience with organic local food. The meat was unbelievable. The team are really friendly and accommodating. The bedroom was Awsome everything for make you feel like a queen and king. I definitely recommend this place and for sure we will be back during the summer.

Chateau d'Ige is a great Chateau with beautiful gardens.The rooms were very nicely decorated,comfortable and very clean.The personel friendly and the chef of the restaurant was an apocalypse.
We ate the best tarte au citron ever with meringue leaves and lime zest on top.
Whoever is travelling with their dog or dogs is very welcomed in this cosy and not very big thus not crowded Chateau.
We will visit Bourgogne and the Chateau as soon as we ll have the chance.

A very special place with excellent food and service. Bedrooms are marvelous, clean and cozy.
