I was here to paraglide and oh my, what a beautiful place to fly around.

Normally we head for the higher mountains, but this was really beautiful and quiet. Will have to go back with the road bike. First go at via ferrata was huge fun too

Cross country skiing at the Feclaz. Large range of trails all well marked. There is varied terrain and a few ways in and out. Most skiing is in the trees but there is some skiing across fields too, so you get a good view of the surrounding mountains. Some good cafes too if you need a pit stop, and ski hire.

Beautiful, untouched area! Mostly domestic tourists so make sure to brush up on your French.

An amazing place to visit. The mountains are stunning and the lake is so clean and clear. This is just an amazing place to visit in either the summer or winter.

Absolutely lovely place for a day trip if you’re staying in Chambery or any of the surrounding Savoire towns. We parked near the visitors center and walked down to the river and the cascade. Really nice day trip up from Chambery.

Amazing scenic location. Ample parking with toilets and then a well defined rocky path up through spectacular gorges onto a plateau where caves can be visited and the views admired. Refreshments can be found at the mountain huts dotted through the range.

The trails are marked quite well, but the map at the trailhead didn't show them all. However, you can spend an entire day there seeing all kinds of scenery. A gem just a short walk from Old Town.

We wanted to spent a week in the snow for New Year's Eve. The snow didn't come but we still had a great week combining hikes with beautiful views, local food activities and friendly evenings in a cosy chalet. As the area is pretty isolated, it is a great place to disconnect from the daily routine and reconnect with Nature and oneself.

Walks in shady woods up away from the hotter valleys in summer leading to some magnificent views from high cliffs. Insect life in some of the alpine meadows like nowhere else. Usually I'd be skiing in this sort of area so this was a very different experience.

The area is particularly great for hiking! There are not as many tourists as you will find closer to Mont Blanc, but the views are just as spectacular.
