Motel & Restaurant Marine

The rooms have a vintage vibe and fullfill your basic needs, this is where I stay everytime I visit Ekenäs. The food is 6/5, would choose this over any restaurant in Helsinki!

Sadly the hotel reviews are bringing down the rating for the restaurant. I'm not here to comment on the hotel, only the exceptional food served at Restaurant Marine. I rate it five stars because the taste and quality of the food were at peak performance.

I started with ox tataki, which is seared ox tenderloin. Think of ahi tuna with a quick sear on the outside and raw on the inside. The flavor was unique and something I've never experienced from bovines. It was served with a variety of sauces, my two favorites being the mustard mayo and balsamic vinegar. It was thinly sliced, my only complaint being that I expected more meat. It came with just two slices (I was jealous of my colleague who received three slices). Regardless, it was worth it.

For my main, I ordered the pan fried salmon. Let me tell you that I'm a big fan of salmon. I often cook at home. This was probably the best salmon I've ever had. The flesh was perfectly soft and juicy. The only thing I would change is making the skin slightly crispier. Be wary of the lime they serve on the side, it only detracts from the perfectly cooked salmon.

They didn't skimp on the quantity for the main meal. My plate was fully packed with veggies and a baked potatoes stuffed with shrimp. These weren't your "weekday boring dinner at home veggies", they were packed with flavor. And shrimp stuffed in the potato? Yeah, why the hell not. It was great bonus to the salmon.

I also had a chance to sample the ox tenderloin steak. It was too five of the tenderest cuts of bovine I've had. It was topped with a (bell) pepper sauce that was just exceptional.

If I wanted to go back for a second experience and was thinking about it for a few days, but work interfered in my plans and I missed out. If you've only got time for one restaurant, then this is the one I would recommend.

My bill came out to about 54 euro for two courses and a tea. The staff was also great.

Restaurant: Comfy, laid back athmosphere, attentive and professional staff. Even on a busy friday evening the food was served timely and warm from the kitchen. Delicious hamburgers and fish & chips. Popular among locals. Will come back again..

The breakfast is simple and good. The parking space is also big and there is a park for kids across the street. Its a great place for family and couples.

Great restaurant with a small garden overlooking the sea. Nice food and friendly service. Well worth a visit.

Ruoka on erinomaista.Pippuripihvi taivaallinen,kastike naminami.
Kossupastaa en ole maistanut,kuulemma hyvää, samoin Mustapekka broileri.
Kannattaa tehdä pöytä varaus.Mielestäni intiimi,viihtyisä ravintola retrolla tavalla.
Sangria on todella maidtuvaa.Isommalla porukalla voi tilata kannullisen.
Palvelu pelasi myös.Vietimme taannoin hauskan illan työporukan kanssa.

Oltaisiin otettu huone, mutta oli täynnä. Jäätiin kuitenki syämään. Ja aivan jumalaista cesarsalaattia ravuilla, ja pippuripihvi oli siis kertakaikkisen mahtava. Maku ja annoskoko oli täydellinen. Ite testaan uuden paikan pippuripihvillä, ja tämä paikka hyppäsi kärkeen samalle sijalle Tampereen Tampellan pippuripihvin kans. Siitä vähän miinusta ettei ollu alkoholitonta punkkua, mutta tarjoilijan suosituksesta otin HappyJoen, alkoholittoman, ja sopi kyllä seki ton jumalaisen maukkaan pihvin palanpainikkeeksi.

Pippuripihvi tulee aina syötyä ja suositeltua muillekin 😊 keittiö aukesi vasta klo 14 mutta kyllä siihen jaksoi odottaa, kun tätä annosta taas odotteli 😁

Eilen olimme neljän hengen seurueena ruokailemassa Marinen terassilla. Koira oli mukana ja tarjoilija toi sille heti pyytämättä vesikupin. Alkupalana valkosipulietanat oli erinomainen valinta, ja kaikki tilasivat pääruoaksi pippuripihvin. Se vasta olikin huippujuttu! Erinomaisesti valmistettu, murea ja suussa sulava! Paras pihvi minkä koskaan olen saanut! Kiitokset kokille!

Motelli on loistavalla paikalla ja mielestäni se voisi hyvin olla hotelli nimellä. Sen ravintolassa on maittavat annokset ja meitä kahtena iltana palvellut Aleksander on todella mies paikallaan.

Kävimme syömässä hampurilaiset kyseisessä paikassa. Ne olivat todella hyviä. Hampurilaisen sai myös gluteenittomana. Olemme kerran aikaisemminkin syöneet siellä ja yhtä hyvää oli silloinkin.

Mukava yöpymipaikka ja mahtava aamiainen ja näin korona aikana pystyy pitämään etäisyyttä ja kun kaikkiin huoneisiin on oma sisäänkäynti ulkoa.

Maistuvaa ruokaa, siistissä ja ystävällisestä ilmapiirissä! Lämmin suositus! 5/5.
