Cueva Los Mosaicos

Over the years we have stayed in over two dozen AirBnBs, mostly in Europe. This may have been the very best and certainly most unique.
The rooms are lovely and the outside mosaics are echoed inside. The patio is spacious and we had lovely breezes to enjoy wine, and meals. There is a very large new supermarket nearby with great selection and good prices.
The kitchen was very well equipped from flatware, to pots and pans, to china, to appliances. The WiFi is good as well.
The driveway is located at the top of a steep little hill and parking is below the entrance with a little bit of a climb. My wife and I are 76 & 74 with one bum knee and one bum hip but we made it. It can be tricky but just be careful.
The house is located a bit away from the historical center but it's a fairly short drive. I'm very limited in Spanish and Marina is limited in English but we communicated well with Google translate and she was very pleasant and quick to respond.

If you find yourself near Guadix I very heartily recommend Marina's place.

A 600 year old Moorish Cave home tiled in Mosaics! I mean, it doesn't get any better than this! Oh wait, it does, because the owners, Marina and Sebastian, are just the loveliest hosts...and it was Marina's 80 year old father who did the tiling of this house in his retirement! Staying here was one of the best parts of my recent trip to Spain.
The hosts live in the upstairs portion of the cave home and operating the rental unit is Marina's undertaking. The cave is adorably decorated with a fully loaded kitchen with a washing machine. Note that there is no dryer so if you stay here and do laundry, leave enough time for clothes to hang dry. (An iron and ironing board are also provided in the home.) The rental is spotless and the bathroom has shampoo and soap dispensers to make it easy. There are two cable tvs to make the ancient cave feel very modern. But who is watching TV when there is an amazing cave town to explore with rich Arab, Roman and Spanish history.
Marina and her husband are very involved with promoting local tourism and are happy to dispense sightseeing and restaurant advice. In fact, one of the places that was easy to walk to that they recommended was a restaurant I had reservations at already. It is Vinoteca El Refugio and its right on the main Constitution Plaza and within walking distance of the home.
Google maps will direct you to the homeowner's entrance, at the top of the driveway. Parking is off the main street of Calle Obispo Rincon on a steep driveway. Wear comfy walking shoes to get to the entrance. And Marina and her husband will meet you to assist upon check in to show you around.
I can't say enough about this unique rental and the town of Guadix. The place is tranquil and so interesting and not overrun by tourists which makes it lovely.

Experiencia fabulosa, esta casa cueva es de lo mejor, un lugar agradable, muy cómodo y sobre todo la experiencia de pasar unas noches en una casa cueva. El interior inmejorable, todo al detalle y muy limpio. Un patio muy amplio, se está muy a gusto fuera, espacio para que los niños jueguen, un gran acierto. Lo mejor de todo son los mosaicos de las paredes son increíbles, nos quedamos fascinados al verlos. La anfitriona muy amable y agradable, da gusto encontrarse con personas como Marina. Muy recomendable!

Ha sido una experiencia inolvidable! Los Mosaicos mantiene el encanto de una cueva tradicional con todas las comodidades de un alojamiento de lujo. Recomendable 100%, repetiremos seguro.

Un sitio precioso. Estuve de vacaciones con mi pareja para visitar Guadix y el sitio nos llamó la atención por las fotos. La zona es muy tranquila, todo estaba muy limpio, las habitaciones perfectas y cómodas y las zonas exteriores PRECIOSAS! Por lo que nos contó el propietario, está todo el exterior decorado por el de manera casera y ha sido un trabajo de años. Son unos propietarios muy agradables.
Además, está bien situado, en una zona de casas frente al Mercadona del pueblo, a 5 minutos del centro donde pudimos disfrutar de los locales y comercios.
Sin duda volvería a repetir.

Casa cueva muy bonita. Está decorada con mucho gusto. Todo está muy nuevo y muy limpio. La anfitriona es muy atenta y amable. Nos dió mucha información.
El exterior es perfecto para unos días de descanso, con una fachada de mosaico que es espectacular. Y hay un rinconcito con dos sillones que es ideal para tomar un aperitivo. Para ir con niños es magnífico porque la zona exterior es muy amplia. Nos ha encantado.

Un lugar increíble para pasar un tiempo de desconexión con los tuyos. La cueva es preciosa, cómoda, funcional, con supermercados cercanos y muy buena localización. Además, los dueños del alojamiento son excepcionales, siempre dispuestos a ayudar y asesorar en todo lo necesario. Sin duda repetiré.

IMPRESIONANTE experiencia!!! La Cueva los Mosaicos es espectacular, todo muy cuidado hasta el mínimo detalle. Limpieza extrema y las camas muy cómodas. La zona exterior preciosa. Volveremos sin lugar a dudas. La recomiendo 100%.

Todo súper nuevo e impecable, las camas muy comodas y la placeta una auténtica pasada. La cueva tiene de todo para pasar unos dias de vacaciones maravillosos en el centro de Guadix.
La anfitriona súper detallista, amable y pendiente a cualquier cosa que necesitáramos. Volveremos sin duda!!!
